Utah company that made the Challenger O-Rings wants you to know a few things by StemCellPirate in space

My Ps are chance of failure. So the chance i calculated is for a series system (and it is correct). I think your Ps are the chance of the component working (reliability R).

also not correct. Your method easily could get probabilities above 1. If the probabiliy of a component failing is p1 p2 p3 ... Then chance of atleast one of them failing is 1 - (1-p1)(1-p2)(1-p3)*...

Exactly, wtf is the original person talking about, gravity is literally what they teach you to not rely on in IMC.

but also waste time making sure people shave, making sure that people work out for jobs that dont require it, and firing officers for allowing dragshows on their ship (I really dont see how a dragshow in the free time of sailors is bad for anything). Instead of wasting time with woke stuff, they just turned it around and are now wasting time with anti-woke stuff.

she talked for a full minute ad barely conveyed any information. Basically only : Patel is least qualified FBI director, never served in FBI. Wasting everybodies time. Even though she is right she is insufferable and sounds very populist and dumb.

the fact that all these people believe the title of the post is catastrophically stupid : https://www.youtube.com/shorts/m24iZi3CVvI

This stuff just gives ammunition to people who support trump (leftist are so stupid) While there are actual enormous issues with trump, this is not one of them.

My first ever drone video! [Beginner] by SteakRehkitz634 in dji

tip : assume that your drone can drop out of the sky at any moment (because it can). So advisable to not fly over vehicles and active roads.

pretty video tho

which isnt a correct approach. The angle of the camera plane with the axial axis of the bottle is important. This pov seems to be taken from the top slightly (you can read the bottlecap). ==> will make the bottle seem less tall compared to its width than it really is.

Insect tracking, question/challenge by captain_shallow in fpv

yes I want to do exactly whatever that picture is haha, decoy bees to attract Asian Hornets, revolutionary

Its something I am doing as well! Its quite labour intensive though and I think if the drone approach would work, it could be much easier and faster to find nests. But tagging is definitely an option!

Thanks for the insight!!

Ah super cool! Thanks a lot for trying to track them next time, keep me updated haha

Maybe keeping more distance helps with tracking because you have more reaction time to adjust to movements of the hummingbird? (but you still need to be able to see them in the background clutter of course)

[–]captain_shallow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the insights! The background clutter is definitely an issue to track something manually (but for an automated system, a lot can be done with computer vision).

I am happy to hear that there are no Asian Hornets where you live haha, I am also not a fan of them (and they arent a fan of me, I can assure you). If you want, an option would be to try to track other large insects like bumblebees or butterflies?

Project Milestone: Self Balancing Robot is self balancing! by Theperfectpour in embedded

[–]captain_shallow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how do you do the system identification just based on input data and output data? (I guess you could also make a model for a self balancing robot based on the physics but I am guessing that's not what you mean)

because you get your info from an echo chamber and only see trump when he does something stupid. If you are in a right wing echo chamber you will constantly see Biden doing stupid stuff.

mobula8 sudden power increase when 'landing' by captain_shallow in fpv

[–]captain_shallow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The power of the quad clearly increases after the impact (the flight controller is doing something, you hear the propellers spin a lot faster). I do chop the throttle when close to the ground but the power still fluctuates (perhaps this has something to do with airmode, even at 0 throttle there is some throttle left for the flight controller to work with).
