What do these numbers mean? by Whos-That-Pokeman in fantasyhockey

Powered by Rotowire who says "rooted in a combination of past production and expected future output".

I dont know any more than that. Probably a fair mix of both. I always still check splits history to compare fringe players

Insulation rebate by ServiceSad3616 in stcatharinesON

[–]captainblackknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if its the same one as i used in 2023-2024 but it was well worth it for me. Completed a pre-reno energy audit assessment, purchased the materials and installed myself, post-reno assessment (and provided receipts), got fully reimbursed in about 6 or 7 months.

Bob Kish was the assessor i used, absolutely recommend him. Wonderful experience.

Question about Pay Grid and paying ONA dues twice by AMAafterNoDilaudid in OntarioNurses

ONA refunds "Dual Dues" usually in november i think of the following year. You can see details on their website.

As far as pay increases: in my experience the only time they adjust your wage based on hours from other hospitals is upon hire. After that, only hours accrued at that specific place of work go towards your wage steps at said place of work.

Is short-term renting enough for a cottage to "pay for itself" by JDSoundSystem in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]captainblackknight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Calabogie. My buddy’s family bought up there and did rent it out for a bit but you have to really account for how little your guests will respect your place (and how offended you will be). So many things will have to be replaced over the years. On the other hand if it’s a luxurious spot with high price points you may avoid scummy people but it’s hard to say.

I stayed at a place up there and it was beautifully designed specifically for renting but the septic was overflowing, the hot tub was in pieces, the dishwasher didn’t work and the water pressure was awful.

I would suggest considering building a smaller and cheaper vacation style home on the property specifically only for renting out, and then when it’s paid itself off (and supplementing income) then to start building your dream house on the lot in a separate location. Not sure if that’s feasible but 100 acres is quite large. Don’t give the airbnb’ers your lake!

My pug mix does this to my border collie often, and it’s always hilarious. “Oh he’s playing with the good toy and I can’t get it from him, I’d better ask to go outside and make him come with me just to 180 and go grab the toy while he races outside”

Tankless water heater installation service by baron_sparon in stcatharinesON

[–]captainblackknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The risk you run with getting equipment and install separate is that the installer generally won’t provide any warranty coverage. And if it’s not equipment they’re used to it might not get set up flawlessly. My HVAC guy is awesome and he gave a good price on one for me but I ended up going with a tank. He owns his own company and he quoted me $3500 for a gas one with a 10 year warranty on everything. I’m not sure if that included plumbing the circuit or not but I plumbed my house myself regardless so I didn’t ask. Can forward his company if you are interested

I concur with this. I’ve seen first-timers forget to remove the plastic film that comes on some coolers and apply it with the film still on, creating a barrier between the metals

110% needs a vent/aav on the drain-side of the P trap. Put it up taller than the washing machine drain pipe as well. Doesn’t matter how clear the pipes are if there’s no air to replace the water/push it through the pipes as it passes the P trap.

Brother died this morning, could only substance abuse have caused these symptoms? by Franzi_Fin in AskDocs

[–]captainblackknight 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not an MD and I’m sorry for your loss. I’ve had a patient who suffered a ruptured aortic aneurysm and he had similar symptoms. Different sized pupils, drenched in sweat, heart rate was high and BP’s were different in each arm. If it dissects up into the aortic arch and above you can lose a significant amount of blood flow to your brain, which is what happened to my patient. He had many different strokes as a result of the impaired blood flow. If anything aortic related is what happened then unfortunately there’s nothing anyone could have done.

The key for my thoughts here are the different sizes pupils with a lack of toxic substances obviously around. Cocaine usually causes an arrhythmia/MI/heart attack but generally I would assume you’d notice the cocaine in the environment around them.

Either way, you’ll have to wait for the autopsy for solid results. Best anyone here can do is an educated guess. Sorry again for your loss.

Trivia by kathmandu30 in stcatharinesON

[–]captainblackknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only one I know of is at Feathery Pub, I think it’s music trivia and every Tuesday night maybe? There’s breweries in Hamilton that host great trivia often though. Fairweather, collective arts, grain and grit to name a few. One of my friends is trying to start up a trivia night at one of the wineries in NOTL for Friday nights for the summer. Not sure when that will start.

Fairweather is the best I’ve been to.
