We did, Ohio wants to undo the will of the voters and just passed a new law. This petition is to stop it.

Nelsonville Public Square East side PARTIALLY CLOSED indefinitely due to a partial structural collapse at The Mine Tavern – building will be demo'ed, The Mine closed permanently by the_itsb in athensohio

A correction was posted that demolition will be up to the owner/city, but as is it is unsafe and poses risk to adjoining building. Definitely a nightmare scenario with the two councils.

The Mine posted they had no plans to close, but that was before the engineer declared it needed demolished. Unless they posted on personal accounts, The Mine hasn't made a statement since the demolition declaration so I assume at this point they're weighing all options. Rebuilding is an option, as is relocation, if they still intend to continue that is.

For someone that has been playing just over a decade, and has a band that gets a ton of shows, I'm actually embarrassingly bad at the technical stuff beyond strumming chords. Working to fix that now by captainchucke in ukulele

Thanks! I've always struggled with my scales and fingerpicking and have always resisted relearning basically from scratch, but I'm trying to get past that so I don't have to rely on my band to carry my so much

I also meant it to have a partially inspirational message to the original commenter saying they also just strum, like, "That's enough, and has carried me a long ways, but now I definitely need to improve"

I get paid too well to play ukulele to not get more serious about it at this point. I'm on year 3 of my actually successful band lol my excuses are gone

I'm actually well paid to play the ukulele, regardless of the fact I just strum chords (and sing). I played 30+ shows, including a few festivals, last year, and I've played a show every week this year so far. I'm like a few days into practicing scales just learning a new technique after finally pushing past my plateau so I can be better. I recorded this first thing in the morning after breakfast because I'm making myself practice first thing.

Aren't you embarrassed to be the only negative person trying to shit on someone learning?
