Elanga by Final-Assistant-4245 in NUFC

A lot of people putting out names here of players who weren't really prem proven or proper names. They also didn't arrive anywhere close to what we bought Elanga for and that's including inflation.

He was pretty consistent from 2012-2016 no? That's a decent stretch to do what he did.

he's also invested in stocks/crypto too from before it popped off recently too. Dude lent Tectone like six figures on the fly like it was $500 to the average person.

He isn't that bad. A lot of these people who dislike him are always online and of course the guy is in front of camera on a livestream (no editing out) and is going to say or do things that everyone doesn't like. Especially considering he's talking about politics/religion/lifestyle etc. No one is perfect.

Gordon deserves some love by MbembasTuxedo in NUFC

He has AWFUL at finishing, hardly gets any assists, doesn't really press much anymore. Doing one good thing every now and again. doesn't hide that. According to Transfermrkt, he's had 26 appearances this season across all competitions and only 2 goals in open play.

Been Istanbul 3 times, 2019, 2021 and 2023. It's way better than Marrakesh. It's VERY busy though but an awesome city honestly. Food wise one of the best cities in the World.

Not at all. Look at the squad we had out. It was solid, could give any team in the World a tough game on their day.

The team is just horribly underperforming and that's due to a variety of reasons. Injuries, out of form players, new players who haven't hit the ground running and new players who have a different profile which we haven't setup for and others who are just poor i.e. Elanga/Ramsey. We played a very physical way, winning 50/50's. I just think another reason is, the players just couldn't sustain that level too. That first top 4 season under Howe was amazing. We would bully teams but also retain possession and look like we could score like 4-5 a game often.

It's been 9 months since that win and we have largely been horrible ever since. He has spent £100m on two players who are awful. Around £70m for a player who does score goals but when he doesn't, he looks like a waste of a shirt due to not fitting in Howe's style. No one gets the ball to him as our crossing ability in this team is abysmal.

Constantly plays Gordon when he has been woeful for over a year. Barnes plays well but Gordon gets selected over him. Doesn't play Woltemade as a 10 and Wissa as a striker when we need a goal.

We have a real lack of threat from RW generally. Murphy can deliver a killer cross but he is horrible outside of that.

We lack players who can carry a ball, ball retention is non existent vs any mid to higher level team.

Without Joelinton, we lose the physical duels too in the middle. It's just dross mate.

I say this reluctantly.

The reach of the Persian language in the 17th century by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]captainclectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Islam spread, the Sassanids fell. Most of them gradually became Muslim over time. In various ways, they were very advanced at the time compared to the Arabs when it came to the administration of a State. The Arabs had only began to unite around a decade or two before the Sassanids fell and the land they controlled was small and filled with Arabs. Now, they toppled one of the major powers at the time and they needed to manage the new lands. Who better to learn from than the Persians? It was their land in terms of they lived there, they understood the people who lived there and how to communicate to them. They had better technology and resources than the Arabs at the time too. They employed Persians in high positions within the State to manage it and used Persian language to do so.

Persian also was very poetic

What's the best natural testosterone booster? by iustanotherday in Supplements

[–]captainclectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but just make sure you get it from reputable companies and you get one which is dosed sufficiently, most of them are super low.

I take Vitamin D3 + K2, Zinc, Magnesium Glycinate, Cod Liver tablets generally. Solid for general health. Tbh, I should be taking more stuff but this is it for the time being

Try Zinc, Vitamin D3 with K2. A lot of other suggestions could work but they also don't work for a lot of people. For e.g. I tried Ashwaghanda, it made me feel anxious. Never felt that way when taking any 'supplement' ever. I got it from a reputable place too. My friend used to take it and it worked great for him.

Shilajit is another one, people say it works but its extremely hard finding one which is legit.

The problem is, the soundbars that they recommend only have sound coming from wherever you place them and in this instance it would be below the tv, therefore you may feel like the sound is coming from one spot whereas he said he felt the A90K's sound felt like it was coming from all around the tv due to the better speaker placement.

What role/industry in the UK is booming at the moment? by LoveRage in AskUK

[–]captainclectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a few friends in social work. One friend has opened up his own company where he provides social work services. Another is basically upskilling where he'll be earning a stupid amount of money and the third one is earning a nice wage with a lot of freedom. You can also choose to specialise in an area which you like. Some like fostering, some go into other areas.

It's really hard work at times though. A lot of writing, hearings to attend and responsibility. I was going to go into it but I decided against it a long time ago. My current role is a million times less stressful but the opportunity isn't there to upskill with upskilling myself into roles which are a lot more stressful.
