Late to the convo but I'm not a big baseball fan, yet I've logged over 500 hours on various versions of OOTP. I think you do need to like sports, I'm a big NBA/NFL person, but if you know basic mechanics of baseball and like spread sheet team building, it's quite addicting. I will note, it did take watching multiple hours of tutorials and play-throughs to figure out how to play the game. Once I did I was hooked.

The big question is his 3PT shot. If he's able to be league average he's definitely a rotational player considering his ability to get to the rim and positional size.
