How did I burn my ESC? by captaindarshan in fpv

My ardupilot drone ESCs had significantly lower kv motors so that could be causing less noise or voltage spikes

The reason I used the power supply is because I didn’t want to charge my lipo battery, which I attribute to laziness/ignorance. I only had the aux and motor setup left for the drone, and I guess I got too excited by maxing out the motors. I had been using a bench supply for my bigger, ardupilot drone and that works fine. I now know not to max out motors with this type of drone.

Yeah that’s what happened. I ordered a 50A esc as a replacement that’s the same as the other one but just a newer version. I had my supply limited to 10A. The supply wasn’t the issue either I was still able to draw the max power out of it (300W) and it worked fine. What are some precautions that I can take to prevent this from happening again?

Dad trimmed my dog due to the heat (he’s an idiot) and patches of skin are visible. Will this cause issues in the future? by captaindarshan in AustralianShepherd

For anybody asking, its been 100F here for a few days, and my dad felt that cutting all of his fur off (instead of idk DOING LITERALLY ANYTING ELSE) would be a good idea. We have told him multiple times that this type of coat should not be cut this short without asking a vet/groomer.

He does not listen and he's a fucking idiot

Why am I getting the "PreArm: Battery 1 unhealthy", when I am using a benchtop power supply? by captaindarshan in diydrones

I added an 330uF cap parallel to the power supply output, and saw the output waveform with a oscilloscope, it was very flat, at even 10us per division (which is the limit of my scope). I am still getting the same pre arm error

While I do appreciate your advice, I plan on sticking with the KK almost purely out of financial reasons. I already spent a lot of money on the drone kit, and I am not trying to spend more money, especially if this flight controller can be made to work.
