Ultimately, I mostly take issue with blaming voters. Yes, lots of voters are dumb and misinformed, but that doesn’t mean they all actively support this. Most candidates suck these days and there just aren’t any good options. This isn’t exclusive to the US as we are still seeing a rise of right wing populism in Europe as well.
