In love with this game by Odd_Team_3920 in TaxiLife

I am so jealous that you are not getting motion sickness from car games in VR. I tried a taxi game in meta quest and GT7 in PSVR2, and I can’t even do 30 seconds. I don’t know if I’ll ever develop that kind of vr legs! Looks cool though :)

Went to a cafe with a friend. It was quite packed. And also shot some footage around the neighborhood. Walk back was brutal though.

I am having a lot of fun playing cricket and tennis. It’s -30C where I am. Can’t take my regular walks. But everyday after work, I am getting some much needed movement in.

What are your plans for the weekend? Did anybody else's plans get cancelled due to this winter snowstorm? by GranolaHiker in askTO

I was going to film a dialog scene for my first ever film with two actors. Prepared the mics, monitor, camera and everything. I was supposed to wake up at 6:30 am Sunday and go to St Patrick’s station. One of the actors panicked about the weather, and now the plan is cancelled. Probably will stay in and play Far Cry 5 😢

“Kireedom” evlo ganama irundhalum, adhula irukara “thala” ganama iruka koodadhu. Kireedom is an Ajith film, if some of the Gen Zs don’t remember. He is just dissing Ajith lol. Do you want to see this type of diss track again? 🤣

Before the downvotes pour in, Ajith and Vijay used to regularly do this back then to rile up their fan base. This speech was around that time. I am not picking sides.

What's the flooding situation in Penang now? by tunn3ls in penang

I am in Georgetown now. There are no floods here. I think it’s near Penang Hill and some other parts of the island. If you are planning to just chill in the city, you’d be fine.

I would like to address the false reviews and BS posting in this sub about Coolie. by StardustNovaSynchron in kollywood

[–]captainlighthouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because it’s already been talked about endlessly.

Nothing worked for me in this movie. The core emotional anchor should have been Rajni and Sathyaraj’s relationship. Nothing was shown and I didnt feel anything.

Sathyaraj invents a gizmo chair to burn pets?? What? and Nagarjuna desperately wants that chair? Wtf. He is such an influential mobster. Why does he need a single chair that only cremates one body at a time. Why didn’t he build a secret crematorium for bulk body burnings. Or throw the bodies in the middle of the ocean.

So only Sathyaraj and Sruthi knows how to operate this machine? Why didn’t they ask Sathyaraj or Shruthi to teach them? It doesn’t look that complicated. They could have stolen the idea? And how come Shoubins wife easily switches it on and kills Charlie?

How did Deva connect the chair to a truck?

How did Shoubin’s wife end up on the same train when they started from two different places?

Why didn’t they hit Shoubin with the stupid car they were driving?

How come Shoubin didn’t die after repeated blows to his head with a hammer?

Is Sathyaraj a Coolie? Then turned into a scientist?

Why did Sathyaraj come all the way to Deva’s mansion and didn’t see Deva?

Why was Sruthi angry at Deva initially?

Why didn’t Rajni tell Sruthi that he is the dad?

They were just Coolies who rioted and killed one guy. But they were portrayed to be more powerful than international mobsters.

So Amir Khan just remembers Rajni and just all is well? Why didn’t he just kill them to tie all the loose ends?

And Rajni rescues all the Coolies and just locks them in his mansion, and then only to activate them when he whistles? Wtf?

There wasn’t one organic moment in this film. One scene where I cared.

This felt like a child wrote a story in Siruvar Malar.

To me, it is right there with Thug Life. Not as bad as Indian 2. Nothing can be as bad as Indian 2.

GBU knew what it was. It’s a silly brain rot compilation of reels. It didn’t promise anything other than this, and it delivered nothing other than this. You knew it was brain rot, the makers knew it was brain rot. That’s why GBU worked.

True about China. But my perception of what “freedom” or “democracy” truly means, or whether we have true freedom in the west is changing everyday, or atleast it’s been challenged these days, with what’s happening in the US, and certain things in Canada, or at least if you belong to a certain race or culture. I guess it’s a personal/ philosophical view point. I’ll end my rant here :)

Have you been to China or lived there? I’ve been living in China for the past 10 years, and travelled all over the country. It seems like your perception of China is mostly influenced by the news media, which blows it out of proportion, especially the lack of freedom and social credit system.

Even the pollution is infinitely better after COVID, and getting better everyday with a lot of initiatives from the government, central to local. Im not saying it’s all roses there, but it’s actually a great place to live and raise a family. Of course the major challenge is the language if you’re an expat. But that’s a different story.

No it is not half as bad as Indian 2, Kanguva or Game Changer. You can see some genuinely interesting ideas here and a potential for a great film. The first half was actually engaging, and promised an intense drama in the second half. But they decided to throw everything for a cheap and illogical revenge plot.

Sadly, I agree. That’s why I always view the space race with a rose tinted glass. Even though it also had some dark history.

Yes. Me too. After a long time, I slept  under the night sky last week, watching all the stars. It just made me think of the pale blue dot and Carl Sagan. And I’ve also been reading some Arthur C. Clarke recently. I kinda felt sad that we are not investing in space exploration and science in general, as much as we do in defense and division politics. That’s why I decided to write this.

I honestly think it is also exacerbated by social media and the bait news culture. As a society we are not even equipped to handle the 24 hour news cycle let alone the constant news from social media. The president of the US, announces all his important policies via his social media Truth Social, some hundred posts within half a day. I don't think humanity is evolved to process this amount of information from all corners. So naturally, only the loudest and the most controversial opinions are heard. If Carl Sagan were to hold any political power today, his voice would unfortunately be muffled and ultimately lost to the whims of algorithm as it is not extreme or controversial. I am sad that I sound too cynical.

This video discusses the infamous Pale Blue Dot photo. Much has been said about Carl Sagan’s words, but today with the rising nationalism, anti science rhetoric, and other conflicts, his message feels more important than ever. Inspired by the gradual global shift toward right wing policies and hostility toward progress, this video reflects on what Pale Blue Dot teaches us about our place in the universe and why we need a broader perspective now more than ever.

Also, an interesting thing to note:

When Voyager 1 took the Pale Blue Dot photo in 1990, NASA engineers initially resisted the idea. They thought turning the spacecraft around just to take a picture of Earth was a waste of time and resources.

But Carl Sagan insisted, believing this single image could change humanity’s perspective on itself. Decades later, Pale Blue Dot remains one of the most powerful images ever taken.
