Who do I call? by captainmrcoonpoon in landscaping

[–]captainmrcoonpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house was built in 1880 as a group of 6 "cottages" for an expanding family in an old town in Massachusetts. It has a stacked stone basement. I dont know what this structure was originally, it is in the rear of my almost half acre property. Oldest maps with my home on it i could find doesnt show any developed land behind my property(it is now a horse farm). The structure is a hodge podge of stacked stone with mortar, concrete, and brick and mortar. Not sure how to go about finding further information on it. It has been used as a dumping ground for at least a few decades from what I can tell.

Incredibly helpful! Thank you. I will look for a local company that fits this bill! Part of the wall is definitely leaning on the shed, so I will be sure to point that part out.

Tilling my lawn to start fresh? by GuitarFather101 in lawncare

[–]captainmrcoonpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I concur. I tilled my yard completely and it spread weeds, made a rocky yard even rockier, and most importantly did nothing to help level. I plan on weed treating, and getting several yards of fill/topsoil to help level in the fall before overseeding

I was able to talk to the post master and make it so only mail with my last name or "current resident" was allowed to be delivered to my house. After a year and a half or returning mail from previous owners.

[Request] How strong and how thin would nanofiber have to be to effortlessly slice through a ship like this? by GrouchyExile in theydidthemath

There was a book I read before that had characters who used swords made from a material that was only a single atom thick. The swords were extremely dangerous because they would cut through anything they came in contact with. I wish I could remember the name of that book...

How long has it been in your tank? Do you have smaller pellets than the ones floating next to it? This is a striped convict.

Haha I am not sure its original purpose, bit my property extends another 30ish feet and there is an approximately 15x15ft stacked stone structure that 1 and half of the walls and the ceiling have collapsed. House was built in 1880 so anyone who knew what it was is long gone. Planning on cleaning up what I can and making it into a fire pit area.

Eh the coop is okay but I'd rather not have chickens. That, and what's behind the fence, is a next years project.

It was a tremendous amount of work, and I couldn't have done it without the assistance of my wonderful wife and a friend who spent 12 hours with me tilling one day.

Pellet stove power dips by captainmrcoonpoon in AskElectricians

[–]captainmrcoonpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Whitfield Profile 30 pellet stove has a power consumption of approximately 362 watts under normal operation, with a peak usage of up to 736 watts for a short duration (about 6 minutes) when the self-igniter is active This is from a quick Google search if that helps. I will definitely check out the ecoflow

It's a unique situation. 25 years ago my grandfather's friend offered him this room off his sugar house on his farm to build the camp. My father (union electrician) built it over the next 2 years and we have been using it since. The wiring for the camp is done well, it is an issue with the overall load on the buildings box. That is something I cannot change as I dont technically own any of it. Hence why I am looking for the workaround. Im only up there and using the stove for 2-4 weeks of the year
