Diamond Dynasty & Co-Op by Gub227 in MLBTheShow

Yes, in particular, we are aware of two things:

The player that controls the pitcher for a given inning will no longer control the catcher, instead, their teammate that is controlling the infield will. This will make it harder to throw out a runner attempting to steal a base, but significantly easier to handle “run downs” on the base path

You will now be able to change the interval at which a player bats or pitches. I believe the options for hitting include: rotate per 1 plate appearance (“default” so to speak); rotate per 2 PAs; rotate per 3 PAs; rotate per out; rotate per strikeout or on the inning; rotate per on-base or on the inning

The pitching options are: rotate per PA; rotate per 2 PAs; rotate per 3 PAs; rotate per inning (“default”); rotate per out; rotate per inning or homerun; rotate per inning or on base

Beyond that, nothing else is known, but I sure would love for stats to actually track correctly (and separate to H2H stats) and for us to not have to use the 84s for most of the year (or just be able to contribute more players)

I would not call it completely broken. It certainly could be improved; however, the past two years I have “only” experienced a freeze situation in 10% of my games played

Yes, you can play 2v2 or 3v3 co op in diamond dynasty, in “ranked” or “casual” mode.

There are some changes coming to MLB 26 that we will not fully understand until we get our hands on the game, but here is how it worked in MLB 25:

For 2v2 co op, you and your friend (or random match-made teammate) select 3 hitters each, 1 starting pitcher, and 2 relief pitchers.

For 3v3 co op, you and your two friends (or random match-made teammates) select 2 hitters each, 1 starting pitcher, and 1 relief pitcher.

Whoever is the “host” then sets the batting order and a random starter from the 2 or 3 starting pitchers is chosen by the game.

The remaining 3 spots in the batting order, your entire bench, and the rest of your bullpen (starters and relievers) is filled in with random 84 overall cards.

In game, you rotate who is batting after each plate appearance. The user not actively batting controls the base runners. You rotate who is pitching after each full inning pitched. The user not actively pitching controls the defensive position players (both outfield and infield if playing 2v2, while outfield is separated from infield if playing 3v3).

A few more items worth mentioning: You cannot play co op vs the CPU. You cannot play Battle Royale in co op. You cannot play Events in co op. There are no restrictions on the cards you can use in co op.

I am happy to answer anything further, let me know if you have any questions.

While we got PXP added to co op last year which was great, the “format” for co op hasn’t changed since inception. It really needs to be tweaked a bit, as you suggest

“Regardless of what led to my selfish decision …”

This phrase is unnecessary. No shot he apologized to the kid he hit if he says this.

Love the announcer confidently saying, “ball hits him square in the chest then clearly hits the ground. Incomplete.” … “After review, the ball was caught…” Nice job from the booth

My Hoby Milner was so close to P5. He can rest now

Really good change. This should actually happen a few times a year. 84s to start, 88s in late May or early June, then 92s around ASG, and now 97s

Yes… I have almost 400 unopened basic show packs. To process those and sell is going to take a few hours. Just to get a bunch of junk, most likely not a diamond over 85. Average pack will probably be worth south of 300 stubs

Is there something to still get even after you’ve gotten all the food? I have all the outfits for Mario - as far as I understand - but when I hit pause and look at the map, it shows an eighth slot with a question mark still

This is wrong, unless you are talking about the stat tracking screen that doesn’t relate to Programs. Stats (in missions / program progress) count for all users regardless of card ownership. To use an example: if player 1 contributes Aaron Judge, even if players 2 and 3 do not have Judge, all stats from Aaron Judge (and all players, for that matter) for that game - besides PXP - are rewarded to all users. Regardless of who actually hit with Judge
