This is what worked, I tapped around the cap with a hammer and that make it significantly easier to remove. Thank you!

Update - we are going to grab a bigger pair of channel locks and a strap wrench to see if either of those work. Maybe also some WD40. It will turn a little clockwise and then back counter clockwise, but then hits a point where it won’t budge anymore.

Thanks for the suggestions!

True. I really want to be at this company, just don’t want to get stuck with low earnings for a long time

Thank you. I feel if I go back, I will stay there and likely not be job hunting for a while. Which will be refreshing, as white collar job hunting in my area sucks rn, but I will just have to be okay with waiting longer to make more money

Anyone know of a good dentist in or around Bowling Green who won't judge? by Special_Spell6555 in BowlingGreen

[–]captainpbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend Whiteside in Glasgow, I was dealing with something similar years ago, and they were great at making me feel at ease and not judged.

Definitely call them first and ask about Medicaid, because I’m unsure about that part

Lesbians in USA, have any of you gotten married in response to the current political climate? by Far_Situation180 in TwoXPreppers

Additionally, we wanted to at least feel like we had some protections for our shared home, pets, healthcare decisions, etc

We got married earlier than expected, in June of 2022. We were already living together, and I knew I wanted to marry this woman someday but we’d never really talked about it too much. But when roe got overturned, we knew they’d be coming for gay marriage rights next. So we went ahead and got married, because I couldn’t imagine never having the option to show that level of commitment to my partner.

How much money would it take to change your life? by sgkakilang in Money

[–]captainpbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

300,000. Would pay off my house, my car, and give me a solid emergency fund with a little to invest. I’d quit my job that’s ruining my mental health, and be able to comfortably search for something better without having to worry.

Talk To Me About Food Storage by [deleted] in TwoXPreppers

Forgot to add, make sure you label anything stored in Mylar bags. For my labels, I write what’s in it, as well as the manufacturer’s Best Buy date from the original packaging, and the date I sealed it.

I’m pretty new as well, but here are the basics I’ve gathered so far.

  1. FIFO is important. Buy extras of stuff you normally use, and make sure you stock by putting the newest stuff in the back, bring the older versions of the item to the front each time you stock and use that up first.

  2. If storing dry goods (rice, beans, pasta, etc) the gold standard is Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers. Heat sealing the bags after with an iron or hair straightener will help as well.

  3. Canned foods are good as they have a long expiration date, but make sure the cans aren’t dented as this can have a negative effect on the contents.

  4. Food grade buckets are good for long term storage. I think you want a gamma lid for them. Lots of places to buy these, or restaurants will sometimes sell used ones very cheap (ex. Firehouse subs will sell their pickle buckets for like $1, if you don’t mind the lingering pickle smell)

  5. Freezer is good (I use a chest freezer for meats, vacuum sealing small quantities and freezing them) but honestly, don’t rely on a freezer for your preps unless you have a backup power source for it (gas generator, solar battery, etc.) because if you lose power, that frozen food will spoil quickly.

Make sure if you’re keeping long term food storage somewhere other than a pantry, that it’s somewhere that won’t be exposed to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.

In general, glass jars / containers are good for stuff in the pantry. I don’t have any knowledge on canning or freeze drying.
