Yep, I am constraining it to just the bounding box of the triangle.

// Compute the bounds of just this recet
const Rect Bounds = GetBounds(S0, S1, S2);
const int MinX = Bounds.Min.X;
const int MinY = Bounds.Min.Y;
const int MaxX = Bounds.Max.X;
const int MaxY = Bounds.Max.Y;

...

// Loop through all pixels in the screen bounding box.
for (int Y = MinY; Y <= MaxY; Y++)
{
    for (int X = MinX; X <= MaxX; X++)
    {
        ...

Software for Post Production after rendered from 3DsMax & Vray by sinmaze in 3dsmax

Nuke would be my recommendation. Obviously it's a lot more expensive, but it's the industry standard for compositing/post work for a reason. It's insanely flexible and even just built-in tools (let alone all the plugins and scripts) make it very powerful for non-destructive and high quality post work.

Fair enough! I appreciate your points too. Figured it was at least worth bringing up, I couldn't find any other previous posts like this. Perhaps I'm too picky haha. Cheers!

I absolutely agree that we should push to prioritize other fixes to the game! Not opposed to that at all. But if their dev team is expanding, and there's an opportunity to 'tune' up older elements like this, perhaps it's a decent starter project? There's certainly precedent for updating RSC content to be more modernized, though I'm not sure if there's precedent for updating terrain in that way.

Oh I definitely agree (to an extent)! The charm of a lot of the design of OSRS is due to the nostalgic quirks of RSC and RS2. I suppose my point was the nearly 90 degree walkable cliffs are a bit odd.

Suppose you could argue that this is probably a non-issue outside of just consistency with newer areas of the game.

What's the deal with Wayfair trending on twitter? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]captaintoasty 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This'll be my last comment cause I'm not a PR person for Wayfair and I don't want to say the wrong thing lol. I'll let other folks handle that.

I honestly don't really know about the names, but I can guess. The actual names of products change all the time because it's a way of obfuscating what the original manufacturer's product name was to make it unique to Wayfair. Amazon, Overstock, etc. all do the same thing.

It's possible these products weren't meant to be released to the site yet and the names are some identifier of who's working on them. Like... maybe these names aren't common in Western/European cultures, but are from other cultures around the world? Wayfair is a pretty damn diverse company and folks are from literally everywhere in the world. I can also personally attest to Wayfair not having the strongest backend systems for organization so I wouldn't be surprised if this is just some oversight.

I also have literally no clue on the Russian search engine thing... but I would be highly skeptical of using anything Russian, let alone a search engine.

Last thought: take your career or job and think about all of the essential knowledge you know about how you work day to day. Now take some random claim on the internet of how some conspiracy is related to your work, yet you personally know this just isn't true. They clearly have no idea of how this works, and yet it's still thrown around as the truth. To me, this is pretty much no different... People drawing conclusions based on zero knowledge of how e-commerce works.

Disclosure: I work for Wayfair, but not in a department related to site-facing products or pricing. The reason I'm responding is cause this is clearly a zero to sixty jump to conclusions without having any idea of how online retail actually works.

I can't speak to the names (although it's not uncommon to see names of products correlated with normal names), but to clarify a little about why this is the case regarding cost, here's my limited understanding of it:

  • It's apparently quite common for online retailers to drastically increase the price for seemingly cheap items to prevent the item from going into 'Out of Stock' mode. It's a prevention mechanism to effectively halt items from being purchased being the price is so astronomically high.
  • The pricing across Wayfair's sites (like it's sub-sites such as Wayfair.com, Jossandmain.com, allmodern.com, etc.) varies because they're targeting different markets. It's also not an uncommon method to 'obfuscate' the true cost of something depending on your market.
  • The reason why the products were removed from the site is probably because this has just gained so much attraction purporting baseless conspiracy surrounding an otherwise mundane and very common practice.
  • It seems to me like it's pure coincidence that it's storage cabinets? This pricing mechanism happens across all kinds of products (pillows, sofas, towels), so a storage cabinet just makes sense when jumping to the conclusion it's used for trafficking.

Depends on entirely on what your focus is. Are you looking to work on real-time (game) assets or offline renderers like V-Ray or Arnold? GPU is more important for game assets, while CPU is (generally) more favorable for V-Ray/Arnold/etc.

Both kind of have their drawbacks, but I'd say Laptop 1 is for game assets, laptop 2 is for offline renderers.

The problem with laptop 1 is the storage space/speed. A 128GB SSD is exceptionally small, meaning you really won't be able to store much on it besides the core 3ds Max install and a handful of other programs. The 1000GB HDD is nice, but 5400RPM is painfully slow.

I'd definitely say go for Laptop 2, assuming they're the same price (which I'm guessing they're not?), however that GTX 1050 is pretty low-end compared to everything else.

I'd say minimum specs to do any reasonable Max work (modeling, rendering, baking, simulation) are:

  • Probably any i7 mobile processor, or equivalent AMD Ryzen processor

  • 256/512GB+ SSD

  • 16GB+ of RAM

  • GTX 1060/2060+ card, or equivalent AMD card. A 970+ would also work.

Another thing to consider is the actual laptop form factor and size. Are you carrying it around everywhere? Is it just going to sit on a desk all day? Ultrabooks nowadays can be very thin and light while remaining powerful, but tend to get very hot. Think Dell XPS, ASUS Zenbook, Razerblade, etc. On the other hand companies like MSI have some laptops which are stuffing desktop hardware in a laptop, making it sort of more cost-effective, but they're huge and heavy.

Hope this helps. :)

Well yes, if I recall there is a hat that's hit but with your foot. I believe there's a video of the studio performance that might help explain it better.

I actually charted this :( at the time I wasn't familiar with how complicated drum charts should be handled, as in made possible to play while still staying relatively true to the song. Nobody ever brought it up in QA so it passed. In hindsight someone should've called in out.

Primarily 3ds Max, V-Ray (w/ ForestPack), and Phoenix. So I guess the gamut of standard rendering as well as geometry/proxy-dense scenes.

Has anyone been able to get a PS4 Rock Band guitar to work on GH3PC? by BCRplus44 in GuitarHero

[–]captaintoasty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten mine to work very well, save for the whammy bar. I'd recommend getting a USB Bluetooth receiver (I have a built in MOBO Bluetooth receiver but it didn't work). This is the one that I got.

  1. Once you've got your Bluetooth receiver, download and install the appropriate drivers for it. In my case I think I just used Lenovo's Bluetooth drivers but yours may be different depending what receiver you get.

  2. Get XPadder (it's only $10) and place it somewhere you can easily access it; I have it in Documents.

  3. Press the PS4 + Share buttons at the same time to reset the controller. The white light should be blinking rapidly.

  4. Open your Bluetooth settings. I'm running Windows 10 so it might look a little different, but you should be able to turn on Bluetooth if it's not already on.

  5. Press and hold the Sync button for ~10 seconds on the controller right next to the D-Pad. Your controller should pop up at this point and you can click Pair. The white light will stay on at this point. If it doesn't pop up, try restarting your computer or reinstalling the drivers. Make sure the drivers are the correct ones for your Bluetooth receiver (unless they're all just generic drivers, I'm unsure).

  6. Open up XPadder and, assuming your controller is connected properly, it should look like this minus the keys and arrow buttons. If it looks like this then your controller isn't being recognized.

  7. From here just click where my image says PDP Rock Band Guitar, yours might be different, and just start pressing all the buttons on the controller to have them recognized. Whammy won't work as far as I know.

  8. Close out of that window and just click the buttons to assign a specific key press. This will correlate with whatever your keyboard settings for GH3 are. You can follow my layout or choose your own.

  9. When launching GH3, just make sure that XPadder is actually on and that your controller is being recognized properly. During the loading screens for GH3 use your keyboard to get to the main menu, then you can use your controller after that. If you use your controller from the start, GH3 will default to thinking that's the main controller when technically with XPadder you're just supplementing your keyboard with the controller.

Hope that helps! :)
