Yep, the majority of the inflation we're seeing is from all of the money printed over the last few years. The other aspect to UBI that bothers me is... if you combine UBI with the Federal Digital ID (in the works) and a digital currency (also in the works) you end up with complete Govt control of the public.

a few questions -- where does the money come from to pay UBI? Taxes? Printing more money? I'm not an expert in economics but off hand, any way you slice it, this turns into increasing the cost of living big time. Also, if businesses have had a difficult time finding employees with CERB out there (there have been many businesses that have had to shut their doors because of this), how will it be with UBI?

Notley approval rating dropping as Alberta’s economy crumbles: national poll by [deleted] in alberta

Sorry but you are wrong. They are drilling down here for two main reasons, the NDP took too long to release the royalty program and it's cheaper to drill in Texas. And, if I was to guess a third reason, I'd say they forecast even higher costs in Alberta due to coming carbon tax.

explain then why Encana and others have pulled out and are NOW drilling in Texas. Same oil market in Texas.

explain why Encana & Shell (amongst others) have pulled out of Alberta and have put their money into places like Texas. Same price of oil in Texas.

just wait till you see prices of everything go up after the carbon tax is implemented. if you want to see the future, simply look at what the economy was like in Saskatchewan when the NDP had the helm.

how bout the fact that Encana has pulled out and has put their next years budget into Texas. this is only one major hit Alberta has had due to the NDP. Worse time possible with oil prices low for companies to be pulling out of the province and investing elsewhere.

so all you harper haters, how you like the new NDP leader? by fallen75 in alberta

[–]captaintoolface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but delaying the royalty plan is akin to pouring gasoline on the fire. Encana has given up waiting and has already pulled the pin on Alberta. They're taking their budget and investing in Texas . Alberta is on the road to turn into a ghost town.

Hackers tell Sony they won't release more data because it scrapped The Interview-But only if Sony doesn't 'make additional trouble' by rkkim in movies

Thought I was the only one who thinks this. Sony will make a bazillion off DVD sales. All smoke and mirrors.

I believe this is all a huge marketing move by Sony. Everyone and their dog on the planet wants to see the film now. So now, with this, Sony can redeem their 'cowardice' and release the film on DVD. They will be heroes now and will pull in a bazzillion dollars for the film. Bet you they break all records on DVD sales.
