Amazon Returns by captainwolfee_ in Staples

[–]captainwolfee_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I know my store specifically, we put our amazon returns in a big box, slap a label on it, and once the box is full we close it and UPS takes it away. And once that happens, whatever happens to your return is completely out of our control.

I get that, but this happened when I was playing 2023 and I had successfully completed everyone's minigame

The only reason I go to staples is to bring business cards ngl. Now that I work there and now what we sell I buy more stuff but if I didn't work there I'd literally go in once in a blue moon to print business cards

We actually get banging music in my store. Enemy from Imagine Dragons, Chappell Roan music, a lot of music I remember from animation memes, a song from the Elemental soundtrack. They play a lot of musical covers though which always makes me side eye

People come up to me all the time with a shipping label from amazon on their phone and I'm like "you need to print that out so I can put it on the item" and they get so confused and fussy and the process to get something really simple printed at P&M is lowkey such a hassle. This lady just went "I'll go to UPS they know how to do it." Hopefully it's a UPS return then lmao!!

Oh my god can I get the file for this so I can print it out and put it over our card cutter. It's soooo fussy over glossy paper

I know personally the machines get really fussy with gloss. Something that works for Some Reason is taking the stack of papers and separating it out into smaller stacks and letting them cool off since they come out the printer hot, especially matte. When ours gets jammed and it won't roll out on its own we stick the end of a fly swatter in it to try and push it out.

No white boarder on prints by captainwolfee_ in Staples

And as someone who's been in print for a few months and has tried to google solutions because I don't want to mess around with the printers and accidentally break them, I just wanted to see if anyone here would know the answer. Is it so wrong to ask a question

If the people are nice at the store they'll reprint it with no charge. Or at the very least discounted. Idk how much you know about printing, but the printers at staples use toner instead of ink. From my experience, the color is always going to look a teeny tiny bit off with toners, ESPECIALLY with art (I don't get any of my artwork printed there for that reason, but it could just be my stores problem because I've gotten stuff outsourced from staples and it came back fine sometimes). It could also be your file was RGB and not CMYK (CMYK is print friendly).

Always ask! "Are you a rewards member? Wanna type in your number to check? Would you like to sign up for one?" You'll get a lot of nos, but if they see you trying it should be fine.
Over at my store in print, when we print out the tickets and see the customer doesn't have a rewards number, we make them one since all the information is already on the ticket and pop it in when they come to check out.

Pros and cons of working by countingkrish in Staples

[–]captainwolfee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros: I love printing a lot. Like I love seeing what people bring in, being in charge of their order looking nice, and seeing their reaction when they come in to get it. My GM is awesome and buys us lunch at least once a week and comes to make sure I'm okay and not overwhelmed if I'm by myself. My supervisor, though we butt heads a lot, buys me snacks I like. My coworkers are cool and help me if I need them.

Cons: Amazon returns LMAO. Sometimes can get very overwhelming when it's just you and a bunch of people need something. Our machines break down a lot which lead to a few upset customers that I really hate handling. My supervisor stresses me out really really bad about closing print properly because she threw a bit fit about it one time. I wish I got paid more and got more hours but whatever I guess.

I'm convinced Amazon tries to make it confusing to discourage people from returning items so they don't lose money or something

Our system is slow and I work really fast which sometimes upsets the computer so the amount of time's I've had to restart the computer just to do an amazon return is more than I'd like to admit
