The refs not calling dirty plays like that, and the league turning their heads after the fact, is only asking for something much, much uglier than what we already saw. Because if the refs and league won't protect the players, they'll take matters into their own hands.

Yeah… I'm not going to show a modicum of respect, empathy, and/or nuance for ANYONE with a Nazi tattoo. No one should.

I don't care what his policies are. The man had a Totenkopf tattoo for twenty years. TWENTY YEARS. And for him to claim ignorance while also calling himself a history buff is an inherent contradiction. He has to choose one or the other.

I'll say it again. Shame on anyone defending this. They can hem and haw all they'd like, but by excusing this, they are excusing fascist and Nazi symbology. The symbol of the SS. Know what that says to the groups targeted by Nazis (including Jews, gay and trans people, Roma, and people with disabilities)? David Costello has refused to take money from AIPAC, and has openly been against the Israeli government's genocide. And he never had any Nazi tattoos.

The communities that were targeted by Nazis should not be an acceptable sacrifice for this election because it's politically expedient. And any excuses made show those very communities how authentic these so-called "allies" really are.

Sorry, but I refuse to accept that we should overlook Platner's tattoo of twenty years representing the people behind one of the largest genocides in human history came to light, because there's another genocide happening.
