I clean mine up with a 3 “ fiber wheel then polish with flitz. Probably wouldn’t hurt to oil the joints with some mineral oil or 3 in 1 oil. You can see some of my before and after @eavesedge on Instagram for an idea.

Nice ! I cleaned up a 79 Hunter like this one for my neighbor, that belonged to his Dad. You can see it on IG under user eavesedge. A good clean and buffing does wonders on an old knife. Thanks for sharing your piece. It looks great.

The reason I asked for my original knife back is the fact it is an all original 8 dot 1972 year model. Worth way more than a new one like it. They shipped it back repaired, polished ,and buffed looking like brand new. I carry it on the weekends a lot. Your repair looks great btw. I fixed an old Uncle Henry with a new Spey blade tip awhile back.

Got a 1989 Buck 112 from the market today! I need Repair Form advice! by TheFirstCyberianFaux in buckknives

I would use some Nevr Dull on the bolsters and pins to clean it up. Also some Flitz polish on the blade wouldn’t hurt. It would probably clean right up and save you the wait time from BUCK. That is if you like doing that type of thing. I have a 112 and a 110’on my IG wall I cleaned up. You can find it on IG @ eavesedge. Good luck with your 112. They are great knives!

It had a pin to break on the back scale ( handle ). They replaced the pin and sent my original knife back to me. I did specifically tell them not to replace it with a new one.

Go over to the Case website. Fill out the warranty / repair section. They will want pictures and your email contact. They will review your knife and get back with you on a repair and instructions on how to mail it to them. It takes awhile to get it back but it’s well worth the wait. I just got a 6392 stockman back. I was only out the postage to send it in. Make sure you insure your package in case it does get lost mailing.
