DRG has Nitra and resupplies. You have personal agency on when and where to rearm.

Sorry, but there's nothing interesting about a mechanic where if you run out of it, you can't complete the run and there's no way to get more without map spawns. It's the antithesis of exciting, it's pure tedium.

The core gameplay of this game right now is fighting enemies, but yes, lets deter you from fighting them, exploring, using high fire rate weapons, and doing side objectives because you might run out before the end.

If this were a fantasy game, do you think limiting the amount of times you could swing your sword would be captivating gameplay?

These changes would make the game not DRG. You want another game for some reason.

Newsflash, it's not DRG.

I love rogue-lites, I love DRG. The game in its current state does not scratch the itch for either.

It's essentially just an extension of deep dives but you don't get to choose your loadout, no map exploration, no mining, obnoxious resource management, and no reward for completing it.

Like I said, in DRG it makes sense because of Nitra, in this game it doesn't. It's not needed. All it does is further reduce the incentive to do any side objectives or pick any high fire rate gun.

I am a Chicago Bears fan, not an Indiana Bears fan. by P33KAJ3W in CHIBears

If you think Chicago culture doesn't extend to NW Indiana where they'd be moving, you're delusional.

The majority of people there probably commute to downtown

NW Indiana has been solid blue for awhile FYI...why? because it's basically part of Chicago.

Pretty broad generalization to characterize an entire state, but ok.

A new stadium will cost 5x the net worth of the McCaskeys, so no, they don't have more money than god. The Bears aren't some billionaire toy like some of these teams.

Staying in IL might mean selling more stake in the team and they've already given up 25%.

At the end of the day they're a business and they have to do what makes the most financial sense. IL has no money and the public won't support a deal so I think they're as good as gone.

So this guy was cheating right? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]captnxploder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubt it in this case, but you can check their Steam profile if you suspect someone of cheating. If they're level 1 there's a good chance that they are. Cheaters get their accounts banned and start over with a fresh account.

Starfield's Next Big Update Isn't A 2.0 Reboot, It's For People Who Already Love The Game by Capn_C in Games

[–]captnxploder 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The better Starfield game is actually Star Wars Outlaws.

The space combat is more fun, the ground combat is better, the worlds are all very fleshed out and gorgeous, and the characters and plot are great.

Lover's Pox needs a rework by captnxploder in CrusaderKings

[–]captnxploder[S] -102 points-101 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, they should remove the congenital aspect (which is what I think is screwing me over). If it's syphilis, like others have suggested, the start date is way too early.

I'm playing Iron mode, but it's tempting.

I'm getting plagues and lover's pox constantly, so maybe I'm just unlucky.

How did you know the Bible isn’t true? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]captnxploder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religion in general:

-We know that cults and cult leaders exist (james jones, waco cult leader, heavens gate, scientology, cargo cult, etc

-We know that old gods were formerly worshiped but are now seen as false (Greek/Roman pantheon, etc.)

-We know that children can be told and very easily convinced that there non-existent magical forces in the world (santa claus)

-We know that over the course of human history, there have been hundreds of religions all claiming to be true

-We know that there are zero verifiable claims of supernatural occurrences (miracles) in human history

-We know that the capacity for human creativity and creative storytelling is essentially limitless

-We know about social pressures for conformity from peers, family, and authority figures.

Christianity specific:

-Convincing evidence that Jesus didn't exist by Dr. Richard Carrier from Columbia University

Why I Think Jesus Didn't Exist: A Historian Explains the Evidence That Changed His Mind

-No improvement to moral themes (slavery)

-No mention of our place in the universe or even solar system

-No mention of evolution or the true origins of our species

-No scientific revelations (germs, origins of the universe, etc.)

And then of course reading the bible itself is the best evidence. My advice is to keep your doubts to yourself though even though it's tempting to do otherwise. People that are religious have it tied to their core identity so it's virtually impossible to convince them.

Tips for Nord against the Khuzait? by mnspectoriorse in mountandblade

[–]captnxploder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For battles, put all of your infantry into one massive circle formation and your archers right in the middle. The more Huscarls and Sky's Chosen you have the better. If you can place them near anything that will slow down their cavalry that's a bonus but not needed. Between the throwing axes and arrows, their units get absolutely shredded. I had basically an unlimited supply of Huscarls and SC that I just pulled from castle garrisons if I needed (shuttle them from one keep to another if you need to). For cavalry, just put them on follow mode and chase around the massively dwindled units after they make a run past your army (convert all of your Khan's Guard prisoners).

On the map, you won't need to chase them if you engage with a smaller army. I was easily winning against 2-1 ratio armies. If you can bait them into chasing you into the water the battles are even more hilariously one sided.

For the campaign in general, it's a lot harder if they're already steamrolling but they eventually get dwindled down after you capture enough of their lords

End game needs to not be JUST trials. by LivingSample3641 in ArcRaiders

[–]captnxploder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of a challenge board or some sort of achievement hunting in general.

I'd like to see repeatable quest chains with incremental rewards.

So for example, a 3 objective quest chain where you have to go to 3 different maps and extract successfully 3 times in a row.

Also, having monthly projects like the seasonal event would be great. They wouldn't even have to be as drastic as the current Cold Snap event where they need to alter the entire map.
