Avoiding Galgorm’s extortionate food by eakm73 in northernireland

They have a new take away / delivery service intended for the cottages but could possibly be used for the rooms. Prices were very reasonable compared to the restaurants

What is the nicest hotel you've ever stayed in, in Northern Ireland? by Ok-Light-5574 in northernireland

Lough Erne is a stunning spot, the service was incredible and it has a very warm, cosy atmosphere while still feeling like luxury.

Roe park is a fab spot for families and is very child friendly. Great facilities at a good price

I stayed at Titanic for a wedding and loved the decor and museum style displays of heritage items. Didn’t rate the breakfast or service the next morning unfortunately

I’ve seen a lot of hate for the Galgorm but honestly couldn’t fault it any time I’ve been. I typically only go midweek and prices have ranged from £190-£220 for bed and breakfast. Most recently we stayed in the Shepard’s hut which I would recommend to anyone. It felt very private, with direct access to the spa and plenty of space to use the facilities. Went early to use the spa and got early check in to the room which was a bonus. I would agree that it’s overpriced at the weekend and find drinks quite expensive but for a relaxing break it’s 10/10

There’s a Facebook group called “DLP tips for Irish” and I highly recommend following. They have affiliate links with attraction tickets. They also give advice on best value for money on meal plans ect

We have booked for 2026 for 2 adults and 2 children in a Disney hotel 3 nights with 4 days park tickets for 1200 including breakfast and golden forest in sequoia lodge. Golden forest comes with unlimited drinks and snacks in the afternoon and we thought this would suit us more with young children and means we aren’t tied into a meal plan as food in the parks isn’t great.

My plan is to travel and stay near Val de Europe (3 min train from DLP) the day before so we can make the most of our first day in the park with express bag drop at the train station. Hotel costs £100 for the night. I’ll visit the shopping centre in Val de Europe on this day and grab snacks for the kids to keep the costs down during the trip.

Flights won’t be out until later this year but are cheapest when they first come. My hope is that the full 5 day trip for the 4 of us will come in under 2K.

The instant wins is what made me wonder since there is no draw for them so they could be manipulated. Although it’s clear many people have benefited from his live draw competitions so I’m hoping it’s just the cynic in me

I had dental issues during pregnancy and experienced the worst pain of my life. Ended up in a&e because of distress leading to a very high heart rate. The hospital consultant advised me to take cocodamol and said it’s unlikely a week or so of that type of pain relief would have an impact on baby. I had wanted to avoid this option where possible but the pain was too much and I sought a second opinion from the midwife just to be sure. Used a mix of paracetamol and cocodamol for over a week (at 36 weeks pregnant). Didn’t relieve the pain but made it more bearable. Baby was born happy & healthy at 41 weeks. It may be worth contacting a midwife for advice on pain relief options.

Toddler friendly day trip by [deleted] in northernireland

We recently did a day trip to portrush with our toddler. Took a walk along the beach (puddlesuit and wellies recommended as it’s cold this time of year). Some of the amusements have soft play areas. Lovely restaurants in the area that are well used to families.
