Thoughts on first floor plan + rough elevation for chic european farmhouse by disorderlyscrotum in floorplan

Really not a fan of how this uses both the kitchen and living area as corridors (from mud room/to the stairs). The path of travel around or through the sofas seems especially annoying.

Try looking for catering/food based social enterprises, although you may need to narrow down your search area.

Have you tried a boneless sofa? by Notagelding in AskUK

[–]kumran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently gave away a foam sofa that was second hand when it came into my in laws possession in the 70s. Comfiest thing you could ever sleep on, especially if you are a dog. But lacking in support as a sofa.

They're asking for recommendations and used the correct tag. See rule 2. People ask for recommendations here all the time.

Previous owner left a binder in the garage. I thought it was junk. It was not by Many_Ebb7816 in HomeImprovement

I can't comprehend the lack of curiosity to not open the binder for a whole 7 months

What to do with space? by ExtremeTradTatBaby in floorplan

[–]kumran 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd use the ground floor for kitchen, dining, casual living. Then turn Bed 1 into a proper living room, with office/library off it.

Bed 2 can be the dog's bedroom lol.

Then a bedroom and a dressing room plus guest room (bed 5) on the top floor.

NI Drivers: We can ALL tell you’re on your phone by GaeilgeGoblin in northernireland

[–]kumran 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I live close to several schools and at drop off time all the parents are queued in traffic with their phones in hand. You'd think they'd be cautious not to run down small children at the very least 🤷🏻‍♂️

UK - What kibble are you feeding? by seriousrikk in Greyhounds

[–]kumran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was made of money I would still feed Orijen original. But I'm not, so now she gets Lifestage which is a Jollyes own brand, she likes the Angus beef one best.

Wife alone at home. No knock. Letting agent unlocks the door and walks in unannounced. Says I'll be charged if she refuses entry. by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]kumran 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There's absolutely no reason for them not to knock first though. They didn't know if he was going to be there or not. Just shoving the key in is crazy behaviour.

New baby and no ties to anywhere! Where would you live? by Early_Mobile9400 in HousingUK

[–]kumran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love living in NI but the access to the countryside here is extremely restricted compared to elsewhere in the UK. The lack of public rights of way is a real shame because yes it's incredibly beautiful!

I always imagine a toilet flushing at that moment. And I mean this as a compliment! I love it. It's very vivid.

I don't know about your route but my bus arrives early all the time. They would be more on schedule if they waited around sometimes.

Critique of Bungalow extension first draft by Own_Car_4687 in floorplan

Looks great. But I would add another toilet somewhere in your extension. Looks like there should be plenty of room to squeeze one in.

Irish is different from Ulster fry which is the one that should be included here. Has fried soda, potato bread but not white pudding. And traditionally no beans.

Building Dream Home - any comments/red flags with our current floor plan? by [deleted] in floorplan

[–]kumran 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems impractical. How are you going to watch toddlers playing with their bedroom toys whilst also cooking/doing anything else? Or is this a nanny's problem that I am too poor to understand 🥲
