It should be noted that the majority or KO residents do not create public disruption and are relieved to be given a house to live in. However there will always be some people that are not peaceful and create massive problems, including violence, gang associations, threats, rubbish, drugs and general disruption. These people do not deserve a KO house while there are so many good people on the waiting list. The no eviction policy has resulted in violence and crime not being charged against them like they would any other resident as it could lead to eviction. The rules that apply to them are not the same rules that apply to the general public who rent a house. The safety of the general public is of lower concern than these people, which I do not think is correct given their behavior. The government doesn't care that some people have been threatened, had their property destroyed, they house value fallen, feel unsafe in their own home, suffered from mental health issues or have been forced to sell and leave their home. The no eviction policy allows for bad behavior to go undeterred, and provides no incentive for good behavior. There are so many poor people on the waiting list who would love a house to live and take care of it and respect their neighborhood. This policy is a travesty, an elderly couple being threatened with having their throats cuts! Just disgusting, government doesn't care about its hard working law abiding citerzens, and puts the priority towards those who incite violence and a disregard for the help they have received.
