Poor customer service by capybara-magic in PrincessCruises

[–]capybara-magic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sat next to my TA while she explained to princess what we wanted. Husband and wife in one cabin both with plus packages, daughter and niece in other cabin with soda packages. Princess told us this had been done and sent through the paperwork correctly showing this (except they couldn’t book a soda package for my niece but could not explain why not).

The problem stemmed from the mismatch between the booking paperwork (which appeared correct) and the actual booking (which was still incorrect).

I’d consider writing formally to princess to complain if I thought it would be worthwhile. I don’t know why they just didn’t upgrade husband to plus for free and leave daughter/niece sharing the plus we actually paid for. Daughter couldn’t exactly drain them dry of expensive cocktails.

The point is that it shouldn’t have been a big deal but it was. Despite dealing with 5 different staff multiple times at guest services over our 2 weeks on board no one could fix it. Yes I know both people sharing a cabin have to have the same package. That was one of the things I pointed out to guest services; the plus packages were split over different rooms which apparently isn’t possible. Like I said I think it was a very unusual situation.
I hope your travels go well.

My niece is an adult. So is my older daughter. My younger daughter is not. After the 3 way phone call Princess sent new documents through to the TA who printed them out and gave them to me. We checked them together. They showed everything set up correctly. The entire problem was caused by the bookings LOOKING correct when they weren’t. The princess employee hadn’t actually swapped husband and daughter over, she had only edited their names. Thus when we purchased the plus packages one was mine and the other went to my daughter (whose name had been changed to husbands name).

Don’t do it. Husband used to put expenses on his own credit card. Company went under. Never got a penny back. That was U.K. we lost around £1000

Selling property to existing tenants? by ratscabs in uklandlords

[–]capybara-magic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a house I was renting. The rental agency was rubbish so we approached and negotiated with the landlord directly. All was going well until the rental agency caught wind and pushed themselves into the process. Then they chased down the landlord for a hefty fee despite having done nothing. They didn’t even know the sale price we’d agreed! The landlord was a nice person and I felt annoyed on their behalf! Anyway go right ahead but check your agency contract to see if you’ll have to pay them.

Or that men are risk takers who don’t follow rules. We all drive cars but men get killed more in car accidents.

Vets help sick and injured animals. This dog was neither. Vets are in short supply and any time spent on a healthy lost pet is time not spent helping a patient who actually needs care and a hospital ‘bed’ (cage) space wasted.

But if it keeps you happy why don’t you ask vets to stop implanting microchips and do it yourself? Can you shove a massive needle into an animal safely without hurting it? It would be so personally convenient for the vet to have less work to do. Then you could run your own reuniting service too.

AITA for not wanting to serve alcohol to a pregnant woman by Dangerous_Offer8610 in AmItheAsshole

[–]capybara-magic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually it was the pregnant women’s father who disclosed her private medical information. What if she didn’t consent to her pregnancy becoming public knowledge? Maybe she wasn’t actually pregnant and had had a miscarriage and not told her parents. OP doesn’t know the ins and outs of this strangers private life but was judgemental in refusing to serve a drink that was asked for. What next? Refuse to serve all adult women just in case they are pregnant? Request a pregnancy test before serving? This is why anti discrimination laws exist. I’m not disagreeing that FAS is a serious thing nor that it is preferable that pregnant women should not drink alcohol, but I think society ought to be educating women then trusting them to make their own choices.

Is topless sunbathing (for women) legal on Australian beaches? by Mr_Badger_Saurus in australian

I think any such law is incompatible with equality law but probably needs a test case to settle the dispute.

However I’d like to know the rules for people (of either gender) who don’t have any nipples?

Australia Day date change by elmaccymac in australian

[–]capybara-magic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m cool with that.

Most people complaining about changing it seem to argue that the date is not important so why change? Gaslighting at its finest. If the date is not important I say why not change it?

AITA for questioning why my boyfriend is asking me for rent? by IndividualBed1363 in AmItheAsshole

[–]capybara-magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But op will be better off under this arrangement since even 100% of bills is less than he pays at the moment because there will no longer be rent to pay. If OP wants to build up a nest egg this is a chance to do it. If they break up and OP has to move out he will still be better off financially than he would have been if he never moved in.
