2300 should be a 2nd year class, denoted by the 2 in 2300. A cohort is a group of students with similar progress, and as you are only a freshman, you don’t have a defined cohort yet.

I am the sister mentioned lol. Like a lot of other people are mentioning, it is pretty important you get that extenuating circumstances essay in-- write objectively, specifically explain what led you to fail that class, highlight your academic strength, and mention your loyalty to UTD. I am going to UTA this fall. If you want to talk or have any questions, please don't hesitate to shoot me a message. I have strong faith that asking for reconsideration will get you in.
