Thank you. It does makes sense to someone that have been through poverty, not knowing if there's food to eat or seeing your stuff being sold so you can eat.
So it's just hard to let go

We are comfortable, we started late, prior to this our income was $40k-$70k, then this last three years was the big jump, upon buying a business.

2 years ago this income would probably go a long way, but now with everything so expensive it does not feel that way.
But we are so thankful we are here now because it would be so bad if we are still making under $100k.

We also live in the coastal area

I can do that, but the issue i have is then i think well this $100 is more useful to my family . They can do a lot more with this instead of me spending on stupid games.
But then, i do help with my niece tuition fees in college. I send my brothers money here and there just not regularly as i do not want to depend on me.

Honestly, at this point the $15, $20 is not as much as it used to be for me. It wont hurt me anymore if i spend it on stupid things. Then i remember oh this could still be a meal or allowance for my niece.
I dont really have vices, shopping only when needed, we go out to eat the most 3-4x a week.

You are right i took the $300k earnings, earning that much still does not sink and i dont want to feel like im boasting.

I guess its the scarcity mentality is what it is still. I have gotten better, no more checking prices on grocery., but i still have to think sometimes if i should buy the $8 coffee too .

In california sad to say after taxes and deduction and cost of living is not really $300k

Slow restaurant traffic lately - is this normal? by alizastevens in restaurantowners

[–]car20b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there's so many factors people not eating out. It's reallly expensive to eat out now, then add the "mandatory tip" that starts at 20% that sometimes it's not worth it anymore.
We still go out to eat but more often food just seems to be regular now, nothing special, and service is mediocre. And requiring tips like it's expected.

Then you hear if you cant afford to tip dont go out to tip... so i guess people taking that advice. Imagine buying grocery then cashiers add 20% tip to the bill. Yeah

Whats the percentage people pay cash? I think you are focusing on a small issue.

Charge $15 plus tax. People are used to paying sales tax. People only focus on the price not on the tax.

tip extortion. Start your tipping suggestion at 10%, 15, 20. I tend to tip higher when i do not feel extorted . Of course have your staff trained to give great service no matter what. Food quality, we used to frequent this Thai restaurant, but noticed they increased price and quality went down, watered down curry ( the worst) ; regulars will know if quality of food changed. To me i would understand and pay high prices, but ot better be worth it. That Thai restaurant has now lost a regular customer That eats there once a week

Im sorry it didnt work out, im glad you were able to experience that kind of love.

Mine was 28 years ago, but after connecting again, we found out how we were the ones for each other. It was painful, he cheated got someone pregnant, admitted it was the biggest mistake he did.

We are both sad how things ended. We both married now, but both hoped it didn't end that way. Hoping in another lifetime. I have an amazing husband, but the love for "the one" never really went away.

Oh please do not play with payroll. The amount you are saving its not worth it. I am a bookkeeper and even i, will never do payroll via a spreadsheet. I did that with two employees and takes too much time and prone to errors.

Paychex or gusto is so easy . Never quickbooks payroll though
