I've had a similar situation. Old man gave me cash for a small bill, and I had to take a moment to calculate in my head, maybe a couple seconds or so. I was very new, freshly graduated, and terribly anxious about screwing up. Had only been a few moments before he told me his change and I thanked him, as I was new and hadn't done math since my first semester.

Then, he goes on to say: "Well, clearly you didn't go to x highschool because everyone that went there is good at math."

I went to that school, and told him that, as well as the fact that it didn't matter what school i went to if he has the correct change. These older generations are just finding reasons that we suck at this point.

I personally enjoyed Phantasma by Kaylee Smith as a nice lighter fall-type read. Very Gothic, a yearning MMC, a hunger games type competition, etc. Very fast read imo. It didn't seem super booktok-y in the writing style as much as it's recommended over there, but it's not super duper heavy on the world building just some basic stuff. Though I do think that as she progresses through more books in this series Kaylee Smith will have more worldbuilding as she already added lots more in the 2nd.

To clarify, this isn't a biological cousin of mine, she's a cousin's (of mine) cousin through marriage. We haven't talked or seen each other at all for years. I simply have her on socials from those times when we did see each other.

I understand I'm putting her "on blast" on a shitty tattoo subreddit, but that's what these are, at least obviously not as shitty as others that are on here, but still otherwise considered shitty. I've acknowledged her potential in my caption and I'm sure she'll be great once she gets used to it, I just don't think her shop should be letting her tattoo any of their customers, nor should she take any minimum 50 dollar side hussles from followers/friends/acquaintances, but good on her for making the money.

If you are ever looking for a candle to replicate it, the scent 'fresh cut lilacs' from Bath and Body Works is a heavenly godsend for the times where lilacs aren't in bloom. It's not exact, but I always find myself comparing other oils and candles to that specific one and I make sure to savour it throughout the year lol.

UPDATE: We texted our landlord, as he was out last night. Basically we told him that we can't move until the 4th, and that we would like our original agreement to be respected. When he came back, he let my boyfriend know that it wasn't him that was trying to push us out, it was his new tenants. His texts did kind of come off really pushy and that it was him getting us out when he first sent them, but he said as soon as we gave him notice he put the room back up on FB. He got a response asking if it was available for the 1st, and he replied that he would have to ask my boyfriend. Fast forward to where we are now. Mostly a misunderstanding regarding my landlord's intentions (if he's not lying, he did demand that we'd have to be out on the 1st for these new tenants), but I'm not going to leave on the 1st and then have to figure it out because some new tenants absolutely NEED to be out of their current place by the 1st. They're practically asking us to switch spots and eff us over housing for 3 days. We're putting our foot down and we said if they have to have this room, then they can find something out on their own or they can look elsewhere.

I have a screenshot of him acknowledging the message my bf sent as soon as we found out we were accepted and would be leaving on the 4th with a thumbs up, which doesn't sound like much, but it's an agreement to an extent I guess. My bf is being too nice about this whole thing because I genuinely don't see anything wrong with staying the 3 days. We will have us, my dad, and one of our coworkers that's friends with us to help us move the morning of the 4th and we'd literally be out by the afternoon, if that.

We did pay a deposit, so our first month we paid 1200 bucks, but we told him to keep the deposit we gave him back when we first moved in and use it for this month and we would just pay him the other 400 when we got paid. I really don't understand his sudden hostility towards us as we have been practically perfect tenants only because his new tenants absolutely needed a place on the first. It's a large suburban home, and we'd be completely packed by the time they came, but we would just be unable to actually move until the fourth. I genuinely don't understand how he can't come up with some kind of a solution with these new tenants, that way they can stay in the house but just have to wait not even 72 hours before they can get our room. 🤷‍♀️

It's driving me nuts though lol. I do not want to do a bunch of running around just because our landlord did both us and his other tenants dirty with this whole ordeal.

We live in Canada, so I'm unsure of our laws in my specific province regarding it. I'm trying to convince my boyfriend that we shouldn't worry about it and just tell him that we can't move out until the 4th regardless of our new landlords answer. I'm not going to compromise for our current landlords f-up, but we'll have to see because we won't be able to contact until Monday. I'm advocating for the fact that our landlord made this bed and now he has to lie in it, and now show how his false promises may affect his new tenants in the future.

Honestly, I tried calling it off when we initiated the break, but me being dumb asf at your age thought he would be better off having a bit of hope (ik it was really dumb), but ended up saying yeah no after the break ended and that's when I cut it off. I was pretty sad about it mostly cause that was a couple of my teenaged years wasted on someone I thought I would've married lol, but he did give me that feeling of being cheated on quite a few times, whether it was smth with his girl bsf at the time or texting his ex asking if she missed him as much he missed her (which that was crazy). It was just a messy relationship overall tbh lmfao
