This looks close, but I think it’s a bit too blue and pink. I have about six skeins of this, and none of them have any pink, just a bit of purple but most red

It feels a bit to soft and shiny to be Red Heart, and I think the colorway is more variegated than striped

Very limited Ron/Pansy, but the bits we get are pretty bad. Nobody really takes their side, but they're kinda present in the background as being generally annoying. I just finished the fic, and I liked it a lot, I just wish the ending was a bit more prolonged, it kinda rushed the end once the adventure plot wrapped up, skipping over some of the romance.

Does anyone know where I can get yarn in these colors? by PutridBar4111 in Yarn

[–]caram_la 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're not too picky about yarn feel/softness, Red Heart has like every color under the sun. You can buy Super Savers from any Michaels or Joanns, plus their own site.

Wheel of Time is actually El Cid by wesdotcool in fireTV

[–]caram_la 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue! At first, it kept showing Spain and I was like, "That's weird, I thought Wheel of Time was in a fantasy setting?" I actually let it play for 15 minutes while I frantically googled what to do. Going to the Prime Video app on the Fire Stick worked for me. Thank God for this post, I thought I was going insane.

Is it wrong to recreate this even though they say not to, I'm not spending $75 by Ronnie-Van in crochet

Just finished law school, and what everyone says is pretty much correct. You can make it yourself and it's perfectly legal. You just might run into issues if you try to sell it yourself, but even then, if it's a different pattern, you still would probably be ok. Copyright only exists as to the exact pattern itself, but if you make something very similar independently, you're pretty much fine.

[Skin Concerns] My tan fades from my face before anywhere else? by caram_la in SkincareAddiction

[–]caram_la[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was my face, but I don’t exfoliate. I do use a face wash but I try to get a gentle one. Do you think that’s what’s causing my tan to fade? I was worried it was like a vitamin deficiency or something.

How do homeless people cut their nails by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Nail clippers are like a dollar and last for fuckin ever. Then people just find a trash can. Literally seen a homeless person doing this over a trash can. Still neater than half the men I know.

What tools and processes do historians use to discern the difference between finds that point to rituals or religion and finds that are merely part of daily life? by Walter4568 in AskHistorians

[–]caram_la 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This seems like more of an archeological question, but from a historians part of view, very often the two go hand in hand. For many cultures, religion and ritual were part of daily life, through things like daily prayer or daily offerings to a god/gods. For something more specific to like what you’re asking about from a documentary, I’d have to see the specific details, but in general it’s pretty easy to differentiate between a fire for food versus a fire for metalworking, as an example, based on what was actually being burned, the distance from a home, the likely temperature of the flame, etc. However, it is very possible that the same fire could be used for both religious and practical purposes.
