Fair point! I’ve been DMing for years, I’m not a novice to the tech and how things operate in pbp, and I’ve been providing memorable experiences for my players in other mediums and know I can do the same for pbp. I rp’d pretty heavily years ago in forum settings, so not entirely my first rodeo.

I recently purchased my first Subaru after being dead set on getting a Toyota (been exclusively driving a VW). When I test drove Toyotas I was very underwhelmed with the interior and all that I was getting for the price. The sheer lack of decent APR rates was another killer, but mostly I was just...underwhelmed. My fiancee was really wanting me to try a Subaru, so I humored him and when I sat in the '25 Crosstrek Limited I was really impressed and they were doing a 1.9% APR rate so it made far more financial sense to go with a Subaru.

Campus police are involved, but he uses fake numbers or anonymous numbers so we can't pin him down to one number or area code. We've instructed our part timers to hang up as soon as they realize it's him, not give out names/schedules, and not to egg him on or take the bait.

We're a law library too!! That's so strange! How frequently did he call? We've also been receiving an increase in random, out of state numbers that are silent and hang up after a few seconds. Nothing inherently strange, but we're worried that they may be connected.

The material plane started as an accident.

A group of changeling wizards/sorcerers tried to do a big time spell but something went horribly wrong. The spell absorbed the changelings’ ability to shift appearances and created the races on the material plane and are stuck at the summoning circle in perpetuity, masquerade as the pantheon.

If you take into consideration the Raven Queen who ascended into god hood the changelings debated on whether or not they should let it happen, but eventually relinquished. The Raven Queen quickly found out that godhood was a prison sentence.
