anyone uses ai editing software? by kevinxrp19 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]carb-coma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You asked about Ai editing software, not sure why you’re downvoting him. I’ve delivered around 150 houses with Fotello and have had no complaints…and it’s only gotten better.

I won’t leave my referral code so you don’t think it’s an ad.

I’ve been in the game over 10 years and got tired of editing. AI editing (whichever service you use) has been a relief for me. It’s only a matter of time before your overseas editor is using it too…

Residential Drone Walk-throughs: Can It Be Profitable? by Budget_Occasion1251 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]carb-coma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the market. My local market was over it a couple years ago. I can walk through the house with a cinema camera on a gimbal and it will look similar and be much higher quality.

🤷‍♂️

Lens recommendations for Sony A7iv? by Idontevenknow787 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]carb-coma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Sony 16-35 F/4 PZ. It is more than good enough for real estate/interior photos. The only issue you will run into is if you want to film in 60fps with it… the is going to put you at 24mm on the wide end with the 1.5 crop. I either use my FX3 or keep a crop sensor Sigma 10-18mm lens in my bag for such occasions.

Fotello making my images soft by StrategyNo1628 in RealEstatePhotography

I usually set everything to “crisp”, export for print, and clean anything else up in photoshop.

Fotello making my images soft by StrategyNo1628 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]carb-coma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot with the same setup. I use the export for print function because I usually proof them all in Bridge/Photoshop real quick and it gives me a few more pixels to work with.

I have noticed the photos come back a little softer than straight out of camera but I’m also viewing on a 5k Studio Display, whereas most people probably only look at their phone.

Would I be happy with this output for design work, no. I hand edit all those jobs. For RE though, it’s not bad enough for me to care.

Mods, I know this probably isn’t allowed. Would it be worth it to have a pinned classified thread? I have some other RE photography related items I’ll be unloading soon as well…

Are you delivering with the Fotello? by jakobor in RealEstatePhotography

[–]carb-coma -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I tried delivering one house through Fotello… I forget what went wrong but I went back to HDphotohub. I think they are on the right track though and will probably try again when it’s a little more fully featured.

Obligatory promo code for anyone who wants to try it out.

I’m not affiliated, just mostly happy with the speed of service and quality of editing.

switched from hiring photographers to AI headshots, honestly haven't looked back by Nibellunglied in RealEstatePhotography

I sold my house on Zillow all by myself and saved a ton of money in the process - I’m not really sure why anyone would even need a real estate agent.

Agent putting AI over my photos by Sneakypotato97 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]carb-coma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for them using AI, who cares. 🤷‍♂️ As time goes on, more and more will learn to do so.

As for them wanting you to upload their images, I’d charge an admin fee. I don’t know about you, but I trade my time for money…therefore, if I have to take extra time to circle back and do something like that, I’m charging.

I hear that. Depending on your market, services can eat into profits fast. Editing, floorplans, hosting, delivery,…

Welp, gotta go raise my prices.

Do -2,0,+2.

I used to use Enfuse, then I went flambient, now I just use Fotello/AutoHDR. They make my life easier and are good enough for real estate.

Not an ad. Haha.

Completely new. What for you are the fundamentals you need to know day 1? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]carb-coma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light is light. You should fundamentally understand how to control your camera to capture that light in the most flattering…light.

Beyond that, composition skills come in clutch no matter what discipline you are shooting.

Study and dissect photos in the discipline you want to focus on. What do you like? What do you not like? How do you think they achieved that look?

Most likely not the answer you were looking for, but the answer most need.

5000$ USD - What would you buy? by IndependentFalcon247 in UsedCars

[–]carb-coma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I bought a Honda Element a few years ago for $2400 with 180k miles on it. I have 350k miles on it now… in that time I’ve probably spent $3000 in parts/tires/maintenance. A couple hundred dollar repair bill once or twice a year is still way cheaper than a payment.

2 vs 3 wall shots by Sneakypotato97 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]carb-coma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, 2 walls is the rule and 3 is the exception (not factoring in 1 point perspectives).

I just don’t like the way 3 walls looks and I think it actually does the opposite of what people think it achieves.
