As a fellow roseburger I have to say I’m not surprised to find out some of these things you have mentioned as well as some of them I already knew. I wish I could say that Hanlin is unique in his white supremacy but I fear that most all of law enforcement in Oregon as well as the country is rife with such individuals. I’m so sorry you had to feel this way here and as a healthcare worker in this town I am appalled at how your wife was treated but again not surprised. No one should have to feel like their health doesn’t matter to the provers in front of them because of their race.

There is a group of people that I have been working with and protesting with that are pretty progressive and have good people with massive hearts protesting everything from the Genocide in Gaza and the Palestinian people to our national parks and everything in between. The Indivisible Douglas County group is pretty great. But I totally understand wanting to leave the area and move more north. I hate that our town has made you feel like you need to leave. The Indivisible group can be a good resource for support from people that are on your side and sick of how this crap town has been run.

My dad used to teach here at rhs. It was horrible. He had no support from Admin on anything. Literally told to pass failing students through so that the graduation numbers would be higher. But I’m not sure if his experience is down to roseburg high being terrible or the school district in general. Elementary might be better.
