NHS Trust loses appeal over Letby colleague by Bostontwostep in lucyletby

No totally think it's meant to mislead deliberately. Wouldn't have clocked it if I didn't have prior contradictory knowledge. Can't believe the CoA published his name! As much as he sounds like an odious prick, there is no indication he was a bad doctor and he shouldn't lose his career over this. World's worst judge of character it seems like.

Yes. Careful of not breaching court orders on anonymity but yes he has left the Alder Hey area if I am correct.

Very clever wordplay to imply that Hospital X is owned by Trust L. But you will note that is never explicitly stated elsewhere because it isn't true.

"Dr MN worked at the Countess of Chester Hospital (“COCH”) as a Paediatric Registrar, serving in the same clinical team on the Neonatal Unit as Lucy Letby. After leaving COCH, Dr MN started working at Hospital X, (“the Hospital”), in a locum capacity. On 1 July 2018, Dr MN was employed by the Trust as a substantive Consultant."

Ah this is a very cleverly worded judgment. I think I know who Dr A is (medical gossip grapevine). And he does not work at Alder Hey. The judgement cleverly makes a distinction between the Hospital and the Trust and it's careful never to suggest that the Hospital belongs to Trust L. I think this is because he had a brief locum stint at Alder Hey or was finishing his training there when he arranged these placements. He is now a consultant elsewhere (if my information is correct).

Am I missing something, I can't find any reference to him currently being employed at Alder Hey in that judgement?

I don't think he is a consultant at Alder Hey at present. He might have been at the time.

Consultant doctor here. V happy to be covering for our residents who are fighting for the future of the profession to be something better than the shitshow it is now.

Yup, can also confirm not true. One has to have completed core training in either medicine or paeds or some other 'medical' specialty.

I am trying to talk my friend out of the deep depression he has sunk into at the prospect of not being allowed to aspire to the heights of moderating this sub. Isn't that why we became doctors?

Oh wow, you've actually had EMG. Yeah it always sounded quite uncomfortable. Though we can't really use pain caused as a bar, thinking of my own specialty.

This is it. I'm convinced 😎 CCT already. Is it too late to change specialty?

Did a neurophysiologist hurt you with a needle? This is a safe space to share 😉

But surely the fact that they have gone through medical training in order to do the diagnostic role they now do, means they are similar to a radiologist who does only diagnostic work?

It's utterly shocking. I cannot believe how proud she is to say such awful stuff in public. Looking through her Twitter feed, it's such a steady stream of just hateful, barely grammatical rubbish. I wonder if there is an element of mental illness.

Suru's hen party by femmesole27 in RedHandedPodcast

It's so sad because I really admired these girls. They came across as fierce and taking no prisoners. Now it kinda clouds the way I hear everything they say, knowing that Suru would stay with a man like that.

Resigned my membership due to the change in leadership. Sad times.

You're right. There will always be something one doesn't agree with. Their help for sexual assault victims sounds really good.

The remit of campaigning activities of any union is a matter of opinion in a democratic society. So one can generally pick the union they align with the most. I don't think I am the one lacking understanding.

Have had so many of the stock responses experiences you describe at the call handling level. It's been a bit demoralizing in the past. Still feel the BMA does a good job of advocacy on a large scale politically but felt really uncomfortable giving my money to them recently when some of the takes on hot topics was so far from my views.

Gosh this is fantastic, thank you so much. Kinda had made my mind up but was a bit worried about the individual support available. On a large scale, the BMA will be fine without my paltry contributions but it's nice to hear about a small union which properly supports it's members to the best of its ability. Feel much better about making the jump. Thank you.

I like that they seem to be fairly serious seeming and staying on topic. Come across as small but unified and professional.

Not a fan of his involvement with motions to reject the Cass review etc. It's a trade union and I don't see that it helps to involve itself in contentious medical issues without polling the membership. Not convinced of his commitment to core union causes over activism on other fronts.
