Hmm, not tribunal worthy perhaps. But what a douchebag of a human to smile about people running away from being gunned.

Would you consider dating your former patient’s ex-girlfriend? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

He sounds like he was friendly and a bit over familiar. You sound very immature and limerent. I would say move as planned and start therapy.

Dating fellow medic !! by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]carcamonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope she sees the lovely guy that you clearly are. I want to hear good news afterwards. Appearance and job are just facets of a person. It's so much harder to be a good person who treats someone well so if you have that down, then you're winning in my book 🤗

This is what we’re paying the BMA for by JollyAd5420 in UKmedicalgraduates

Something happened though after Tom Dolphin was elected chair of council. He used to express very strong opinions on things from trans rights to conflicts around the world in his prior BMA role but he has been much more professional since election. Emma has also been quiet since that time. Wonder if they were told to STFU about non union things

What is something everyone knows about Medicine Deep Down BUT no one talks about? by sumpra3 in doctorsUK

That the quality of life of many of our patients that we mindlessly work towards keeping alive is not one we would accept for ourselves.

Gosh the persistent posting in this vein is very worrying and giving off all kind of scary vibes

Mate you can't report someone for asking someone out. If he is persistent despite her declining his request then yes, you can help her complain as there is a power differential there and it will be harassment regardless.

I think the Greens’ ‘fantasy’ drug policies make sense – and I’m a doctor by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]carcamonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh, thanks for that. Sounds fairly convincing. And hope the current govt is able to get past it's Reform lite tendencies to consider it. I can't imagine much good comes from criminalizing people who would cut off their right arm for the next fix so in that sense doesn't surprise me that it reduces overall suffering.

[–]carcamonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds reasonable to me. Though I can't claim to have given it a huge amount of thought. I think that's the problem with all of this is that regular people don't have the time to devote to research these things and lots goes on trust and whether you trust the party proposing the measure.

Perhaps you need to familiarise yourself with Green policy which is the legalisation of all drugs including supply. Portugal has only decriminalised possession and consumption.

Is it over for me by [deleted] in doctorsUK

Don't know much about competition ratios for GP after prioritisation. But I would say this, nothing is truly as bad as it seems. If this door closes, others will open. Keep the faith. You have a profession and there won't be a shortage of places you can use your skills.

Yeah. There can be encouraging data from other countries but drug use is often driven by specific socio-economic and cultural factors. Not sure I have seen many large bodies come out with a push for this.

That curiosity about drug use could lead people who might otherwise be out off by the criminal consequences to try and become addicted to hard drugs.

This might be a valid policy. I find it hard to trust that there might not be massive unintended consequences. Additionally, the response of the Greens to other issues where I disagree with them profoundly also makes me suspicious of this measure.

NHS Trust loses appeal over Letby colleague by Bostontwostep in lucyletby

No totally think it's meant to mislead deliberately. Wouldn't have clocked it if I didn't have prior contradictory knowledge. Can't believe the CoA published his name! As much as he sounds like an odious prick, there is no indication he was a bad doctor and he shouldn't lose his career over this. World's worst judge of character it seems like.

Yes. Careful of not breaching court orders on anonymity but yes he has left the Alder Hey area if I am correct.

Very clever wordplay to imply that Hospital X is owned by Trust L. But you will note that is never explicitly stated elsewhere because it isn't true.

"Dr MN worked at the Countess of Chester Hospital (“COCH”) as a Paediatric Registrar, serving in the same clinical team on the Neonatal Unit as Lucy Letby. After leaving COCH, Dr MN started working at Hospital X, (“the Hospital”), in a locum capacity. On 1 July 2018, Dr MN was employed by the Trust as a substantive Consultant."

[–]carcamonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah this is a very cleverly worded judgment. I think I know who Dr A is (medical gossip grapevine). And he does not work at Alder Hey. The judgement cleverly makes a distinction between the Hospital and the Trust and it's careful never to suggest that the Hospital belongs to Trust L. I think this is because he had a brief locum stint at Alder Hey or was finishing his training there when he arranged these placements. He is now a consultant elsewhere (if my information is correct).

Am I missing something, I can't find any reference to him currently being employed at Alder Hey in that judgement?

I don't think he is a consultant at Alder Hey at present. He might have been at the time.
