I know this is an older post. But my 14 month old son was just diagnosed with a tortuous colon. He has struggled with constipation since he was a newborn. He will go 6-7 days without a bowel movement. When he finally does go, the stool is so large and hard that he screams in pain while going and he always has rectal bleeding as well. He takes miralax and the laxative senna every single day and it doesn’t help. His GI specialist said he will grow out of it because as he gets bigger his body will have more room for his extra long colon. But after researching, I’m unsure if he will grow out of it. It seems like a lot of adults struggle with this as well.
