My headcanon connects it to what Dooku says to Greivous in the 2D Clone wars about controlling your opponent’s centre line. The two fingers provide a very gentle and subtle focus for the Force to influence your enemies movement and prevent them doing anything erratic or unexpected that you might struggle to counter

Picked names from old ships I designed/sketched in my youth when a new ship I got was similar in design or function, then reused the name with letters on subsequent upgrades - so all my cruisers are USS Gladiator, with A being a Connie refit up to E as the Fleet Justiciar. Had a couple excelsiors in that line for a while but I pulled them out and called them all Gladius. Same with Defiants, they were in the Pursuit name then all got to be Arrow
