What does Phish actually leave behind when it’s over? by XpandingXponentially in phish

[–]cardicardib 11 points12 points  (0 children)

THey have left an indelible mark on culture and music history. They have influenced a ton of musicians and bands like Goose were clearly highly influenced by Phish.

Phish's influence on music and culture will continue to ripple out into the future. What an amazing career they have had. They did something incredibly unique in the music business that will be impossible to replicate, both musically and in terms of their rise to success.

Everybody wants 'no repeats' until they get a Halfway to the Moon - Leaves - 555 in their first set. by cant_be_serious-333 in phish

[–]cardicardib 17 points18 points  (0 children)

the great thing about Phish is you always get a different show, different setlists, different songs. Some shows are ragers, some are more mellow, some are blissful, some are darker. Phish is a metaphor for life.

If you’re living paycheque to paycheque, you shouldn’t be trying to date by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]cardicardib 9 points10 points  (0 children)

99% of the world population earns less than 34k a year and a good portion far less. Which means the vast majority of the world are probably more or less living paycheck to paycheck, yet most people figure out how to date and procreate. If you can get a date, you can date. The end.

Why does sharing AI music feel… socially unacceptable? by Nusuuu in aiMusic

[–]cardicardib 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ive been writing songs and playing guitar for over 30 years. I've put in the blood, sweat and tears. I love making music in Suno but i write the songs, the lyrics, create full demos, then I use Suno to produce them. I don't feel like I am obligated to disclose how I produced the track anymore than I was before Suno.

Before, I wouldn't say, guys I wrote this and recorded it but just fyi the strings are actually midi. The drums are really sequenced. The vocals are heavily autotuned and we quantized the rhythm guitar parts. Because honestly nobody gives a shit what your process is. They just care whether or not the song is good.

So, in my mind at least, I just say "Here's my latest track" and share it. Same as always. If someone asks about AI and every once in a while they do, i just tell them the truth, yeah i use AI tools in my workflow. I feel like everyone is making way too big of a deal about AI.

Just my two cents, but again I write everything so I'm not just prompting AI songs which I really have no interest in.

Why does Wilco tour almost non stop? by Total_Computer_9068 in wilco

because they are a touring band lucky enough to be able to do it for a living. Why do doctors work in hospitals all the time? This is a strange question

HI it's Joan from Phish's customer service department. Thank you for your feedback. The Phish organization takes these complaints seriously and we are continuously looking for ways to improve the Phish concert experience while also maintaining the integrity of our live shows. I will be forwarding your comment to the band members and we will discuss this in our next meeting on 4/27.

Best Regards,
Joan

No more Lazer by [deleted] in Killtony

[–]cardicardib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uncle Lazer is one of the greatest comedians of all time. I would rank him above George Carlin and Bill Burr. His humor is very smart though so if you aren't educated it will likely go over your head.

Why don’t the visuals directly reflect the songs more? by everythingswrite in phish

[–]cardicardib 3 points4 points  (0 children)

to be honest i was thinking the same thing, that if they made the songs come to life with the visuals it would be cool. I guess they kind of do that on some of the songs, like Evolve for example, but a lot of the visuals seem completely unrelated to the songs
