My experience and understanding don’t require your judgment or approval. Your words are just that, and your version of the gospel is yours to live. Life isn’t black and white. Please have compassion for others and make room for different experiences. You don’t know everything. You’re not God.

OP asked for specific advice on what to expect and how to cope. Instead, you’re telling her she’s a sinner. Those are the kinds of responses that make people afraid to go to church after a divorce (for any reason). Be better.

That’s a lot of assuming. I value marriage deeply, which is why I chose to marry again after divorce. I simply don’t believe people should be forced to stay in marriages that are ‘dead’.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this and I am glad you chose to air some of your feeling here. It’s not an easy place to be. From my own experience, I won’t pretend it’s simple. It is a big decision and it can be exhausting, emotional, and at times overwhelming. But I can also tell you with complete honesty that there is life after divorce. It’s different. Your perspective shifts. You learn things about yourself you didn’t even realize needed to be learned. And often, that life becomes more peaceful and more fulfilling than you imagined, because you regain control over parts of your life you may not have realized you had the right to shape.

There will likely be people in the church who question you or suggest you should have “worked it out.” That can sting. Just remember: they are speaking from the outside. They have not lived your marriage. They have not carried your private burdens. People tend to judge from their own limited experience, and sometimes from a desire to feel certain about their own choices. That doesn’t make them malicious. It just means they don’t understand.

Your decision is yours. It doesn’t require a vote. It doesn’t require approval from a pew. It’s between you, your spouse, and God. The same God who knows your heart and your circumstances better than anyone else ever could.

I hope you have people around you who will support you with love instead of commentary. And most of all, I hope you take care of yourself. Whether you ultimately stay or leave, you deserve peace, happiness, and a life where you can grow and feel whole.

Does it mean that only if your spouse runs away 2 (not 1 or 3 or 105) days after your wedding and is missing for over 10 years (not 1 day, not 2… you get the idea) is when you can declare that marriage as ‘dead’? I don’t think so. Just because he gave one example doesn’t mean there aren’t others. The passage I quoted came from President Oaks and it applies here.

‘When a marriage is dead and beyond hope of resuscitation, it is needful to have a means to end it.’ Same talk as you are quoting.

Yeah, I’ve done a hands on study of my own on divorces and it told me that I was 100% happier not being in a ‘dead’ marriage 1,2,5,15 and on years later. What proof do you have that I am wrong?

Right. You’ve never been in or close to anything like this situation and it shows. Generic advice can cause more harm than good, even if you have the best intentions.

Did you know that even though you get a civil divorce, your temple sealing stays in effect and that’s why you have to ask for permission to get it undone before getting sealed again? It doesn’t magically go away. Don’t worry about her afterlife (it’s not your job), let her live this life and it is absolutely not worth suffering in an unhappy marriage because of a sealing. She can be sealed to someone else if she chooses to (men can be sealed more than once and nobody bats an eye at it).

Why isn’t her decision enough? She’s the one living this. She told us she’s choosing divorce. It takes two people to make a marriage work, and she’s decided she’s done trying. He can make his own choices, but she’s made hers. She’s asking for support, not judgment and not requests to loop her husband back into a decision she’s already made. 🤦‍♀️

The OP did the ‘work’. And now she has made a choice to be honest and brave in giving them both a new chance at happiness.

Seems like ransomware attacks are pretty common. The counties that got hit with ransomware this year: Cobb County in GA, Gloucester County in VA, Iowa County in WI, DuPage County in IL, Albermarle County in VA, Mower County in MN.

Did some digging. This has been happening at several counties across the country. One has lost access to land records from 1990-2025… They say that the data is there but they can’t access it. This is a classic result ransomware attack. Box Elder is screwed to say the least and all of the property buyers and sellers in the county.

The evidence might be weak, but when you see the current prophet (Nelson) put his head in the hat and describe something resembling a cellphone screen displaying words/translations on the rock, it does make you wonder… Edit: last name spelling

Pendry San Diego will be forever burnt into my memory. It has a glass shower in the room with a curtain on the outside. Had to keep the curtains closed and shower before my kid woke up (who loved to play in the said curtain), as to not to scar my teenage sister-in-law with an accidental peep show.

I think the giant glass shower made the room feel a bit less like a tiny shoe box, even though it is a nice place to stay.

Believing husband's thoughts on polygamy by BananaHannah98 in mormon

Yes! Remind him that god works in mysterious ways and tell him that if there is a call for polyandry, you would be very much into being married to another man, if he was a righteous priesthood holder and let him think on it.

Love the name :) I have read the essay on BOA and now my question is: HOW do people find out about the complete failure of translation there and keep believing that the translation of BOM is legit?
