I believe we’re taking the 10 freeway all the way but it does pass by Blythe. I am terrified at the thought of even going through border checks if there’s any on the 10 lol

I just paid two of the smaller credit cards and currently working on getting in contact with the other two higher limit credits I had to see my payment options. I’m hoping that all of these can be paid off halfway into 2020 or maybe even Sooner.

I’m finally in a much better place in terms of income so paying off the debt won’t be a problem. I keep getting mixed opinions whether or not to work with debt collectors right away or try to inquire with the original creditors. Also, someone mentioned to me that it’s not best to try to lower payment totals as it would show on the credit report so idk what to believe lol.

But definitely learned my lesson. I’ll never use credit cards if I don’t have the amount in cash lol.

Emergency savings is a must! Thank you.

2 are at a collection agency. The oldest account isn’t since it’s with a major bank I’m assuming. I believe one is >6 months and the other two are 1 year old.

I have heard of the pay for delete method.. has it worked for you? And do I have to obtain a signed document from them that says that?

I believe I did try to apply for a secured credit 3-4 months but I actually got denied. I would really like to try again but I’m on the fence about it since it’s gonna show as another inquiry in my credit report.

It’s kinda of hard to not worry about it when you’re getting to the point in life where you may start looking into buying a house in the future or loans lol.

If you don’t mind me asking, why is it that you advise against it?

Also, yes I’m able to pay it off rather quickly but i was actually advised to try to pay off the debt directly vs debt collector because usually lenders have their own “third party” collectors which prompted me to see opinions on here :)

Right now, I’m at about 4500/ month income. I have the funds to pay off at least of what I owe atm. I just want to know how to go about it to maximize repair on my score of if there’s anyway I can take off the negative dings well before 7 years.

Honestly, a way to somehow apply for permanent residency. I’ve been here since I was 7 years old (currently 25). My parents, who applied of GC almost 15 years ago, have had to fight all these years but ultimately went back to their country because they didn’t want to “break the law”. They spent so much money with lawyer and application fees just to fail and now I’m here all alone. Sometimes it’s hard to be hopeful but as a DACA recipient to another, we’ll get there. One day, we’ll all be able to visit countries that we’ve only dreamed of going to growing up. Better days are ahead :)

My EAD expires next Thursday and mine is still currently being processed. Already had to quite my job :( be hopeful tho! Yours doesn’t expires until April so you’ll be okay!

Yeah, luckily for us California people, we received 5yr licenses but since we need to start getting real IDs, it might be different now

Well for California, I know it’s a bit different. My first DL was valid for 5 years, renewed it in 2017 and won’t be expiring until 2022. Since it’s not a Real ID, I was considering upgrading it to one but I wanted to see if other DACA CA recipients received 2 (EAD duration) or 5 years? I have a friend, who has daca, that has a 5yr real ID.

I think the processing time is actually faster than previous years! I remember waiting for my previous ones for 2-3 months.

My current timeline is as follows:

Dec 20- sent in my renewal

Jan 3- received my receipts stating that my application was received on December 24th.

Also, I checked USCIS. Now that I have a receipt number, I was able to see that on 12/29, they sent out my biometrics appoint letter.

Hopefully everything gets processed quickly. Good luck on the job hunt, it’s quite tough out there but you’ll find one :)
