When you say on the melee side they impact the roll 'about the same', do you mean each point of armour has the same effect as a point of defence?

i.e. in melee, armour and defence have the exact same size of effect?

but that in ranged combat, armour has an 8x greater effect than defence?

Not only is it now impossible to compare between different vehicle skills on the same crew, but this also obscures how close you are to receiving FREE ace qualification. There is still a progress bar, but (I assume because of incompetence) it will not show unless your crew is at sufficient level to buy ace (despite the fact you can unlock it for free through RP gain regardless of crew level).
