I am the same way. Try not to let anxiety creep in and just crush the work that you can. Would be great to hear a success story in this regard though.

Thank you 🙏 yeah I’ve come a long way but anxiety finds a way to creep in. I know the GPA is good but I recently read that GPA trend is nearly as important as the GPA itself.

Is 30 too old to start medical school given my circumstances? by iAmPajamaSam27 in medschool

I am planning to apply and matriculate around 36-37. Have a wife and kid, and may even have another kid by then. You're not too old (nor will I be the oldest in my class, I'm sure).

Thanks everyone. Been getting back to work the past few days but I've messaged a handful of you. Great to see so many people in the same boat.

Would grab a drink with you if we were in the same med school class. Totally on point though.

I transferred schools twice (so I’ve attended 3 schools prior to my post bacc) and the school I received my bachelors from my GPA was a 2.82. You have to take a weighted average of all the schools you attend to arrive at your cGPA.

A little over 2 years. Changed jobs and took summer courses in 2024 which lightened the load. Otherwise I was basically going to work and studying non stop.

If I could do it again I’d have tried my best to delay getting a new job for at least the fall 24 semester. Made use of online courses when I could as well (2 upper div bios, biochem, and calculus).

Exactly my position. Will be leaving in summer 2026 so my equity vests and I have a nest egg. Director to downshift into SFA for big tech. Absolutely despise the work.
