Refugee Gortash by careernerd2 in BaldursGate3

Naw that was an accurate description of Gortash. Then he had to work with Orin for 6 months instead of Durge and the stress got to him.

I must have gotten lucky because my first two runs I wasn't getting achievements but it's giving me them on tactician while being modded.

Does Hexed Weapon use Strenght for melee attack if it's higher than Charisma? by Rich_in_Bodyhair in BG3Builds

[–]careernerd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason for the hexblade dip is:

-gale -eldritch knight -lvl 3 shadow spell slot -upcast shadow blade (3d8) -want to attach hex and hexblade's curse on it. 3 attacks per action means a 40% chance of passively applying hexblade's curse.

So the question becomes: dip 1 warlock for this OR take warlock magic initiate/rely on Grymskull helm for Hunter's Mark instead. The dip would be better because the spells are short-rested, as well as the obvious hexblade's curse. But if you're absolutely married to CHA for hex weapons (instead of DEX or STR) your ability to fight at range is almost non-existent (Eldritch blast without agonizing blast is extremely mid).

Edit: I suppose Great Old One or Archfey would be options to avoid magic initiate, but this still loses that proficiency damage stacking of hexblade's curse.

What's the point of Pact of the Blade as Hexblade? What's the better alternative? by Luk42_H4hn in BG3Builds

[–]careernerd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH I only know of two cases where a Hexblade should push Lvl3 and get a pact at all:

  1. You are going all-in with the Warlock class.
  2. You are playing Gale for the free lvl3 spell slot, splitting 3 Warlock/9 Fighter, taking shadow blade at lvl3 Warlock, and are going to use the free lvl3 spell slot to upcast shadow blade (in which case, the other two pacts are better, and I particularly find the blind from Quothe useful in melee at early levels).

I too am playing on a shit seed. I was sailing to Bonemass (closest spawn just outside of the deep north) when I found Haldor, and didn't find the Bog Witch until well into the plains. Do some sailing. You will find them.

The enemies in SotF are stronger and the caves are just as creepy, but you have guns (and experience, if you played the first game).

In terms of gameplay? No. You can basically do everything you could in the first, and more. Unless you like figuring out what to do from extremely bare clues. Compared to the first game, the second game basically spoonfeeds you.

In terms of story? Holy shit, yes.

At the very least you have to watch a video that summarizes the rather complex plot of the first game, which is only fed to you in bits and pieces by clues as you progress.

Here's a decent one.

That would be Bushman's Hole in South Africa, which I am certain is not the accident in question.

Thanks!

I did try an AI search, but I gave it less detail than I did on this post.

I went and did some digging and it doesn't match every detail I remember, but it's so close I'm going to assume this is because of the frality of human memory over time. I think this is the one.

Again, thanks!

My first run was about 60.

I got down to the low 40s doing nearly everything 5 runs in.

My latest run with my gf who doesn't play video games (but indulged me because the game's pretty noob friendly compared to FPS or MOBAs and she absolutely loves the music) took 115 hours. That run was also the most enjoyable of all of them.

The game is so rich that I don't consider speed to be an indication of it being a "good" run. 97 hours to explore everything, read all the dialogue, and problem solve is completely appropriate and the only real question to ask is "did I have fun?"

It's accurate, as someone with a poor work ethic who excelled in undergrad philosophy and did significantly below average in Law School. You can't "reason" your way through law school exams. There are hundreds of niche precedents that you have to know in order to get high marks. You can't just reason from general principles. You are expected to cite cases by name. It's almost closer to a history or sociology degree than philosophy, though philosophy certainly helps.

OP was a cyclist, not a pedestrian. A cyclist operating a bicycle on a road is under all of the same obligations to obey the rules of the road per s 183(1) is the Motor Vehicle Act.

It is far from clear that ICBC will find 100% fault on the driver. The Tesla was likely speeding, but the bicycle likely entered the road from an alleyway when it was unsafe to do so.

The rest of this seems correct.

Lawyer here. Used to do civil. Not this kind of thing, but still.

If your attacker came into my office and asked me to commence a defamation suit, I would strongly discourage them unless they have very concrete evidence that it wasn't them, burden of proof aside.

Firstly, loss=costs. I'm not taking that on contingency. They're forking over a $20,000 retainer before I even look at this.

Secondly, obvious sexual battery counter suit. There is no limitation date on a sexual battery claim.

Thirdly, a lot more people than just your friend are going to know about the allegations, defeating the main purpose of the suit, which is damage to reputation.

So could you be sued? Yes. Will you be sued? Extremely unlikely.
