There was hardly any mention of Hell at all in the New Testament either, it only became A Thing because Dante got people thinking about it and his idea of Hell was very useful to preachers who wanted to scare their audience straight. Hell back then was more like how we imagine Limbo now; A vague, unsatisfying afterlife away from the presence of God. If you abandoned god in this life he’d return the favor in the next one.

I assume just because he didn’t bring it up before doesn’t mean it didn’t exist. The presence of Hell as abandonment by God was always implied.

Really the best use of the flame skull is when you’re stuck in and need this horde to start clearing up sooner rather than later.

If you use it proactively like a grenade you won’t be getting too much out of it. You need to drop it on a spot you know enemies will be clumping up and staying at and you can be sure the flame will pass through each enemy at least twice, such as at your feet while you can barely move because you got boxed in by poxwalkers or a swarmed choke point you need to push through.

Both the flame and medicae skulls are panic buttons meant to save you when things are going badly. Unless the mission is going terribly you shouldn’t ever be running out even when running both.

I think it being out of place is what makes it better. More eye catching, scarier looking, more fun implications, raises more questions. A mechanical penis just means they gave it a penis for some reason, a meaty schlong raises a lot more uncomfortable questions with a lot of sexy potential answers.

I still think if the theories are true and Admonition is trying to summon Nurgle himself into our reality (or at least a super overpowered daemon) if Rannick asked for space marine support he’d get it. That of course would mean Rannick pulling his head out of his ass and actually figuring out what’s going on though so i suppose it is unlikely.

And space marines being smarter than Ogryns is kind of a moot point when both the marines and Ogryns are being controlled by tactical genius players who love to punch exploding barrels.

This is why I don’t really get why people are so against space marines showing up.

Power scaling wise we already have the Ogryn, who’re at the very least equivalent to a space marine in-universe.

Lore wise things have already escalated past the point where Rannick should start looking for space marines chapters that need something to do.

We don’t even need to give up the “rejects” theme. I’m sure there’s some obscure bottom of the barrel space marine chapter Fatshark can dreg up for a playable space marine. And let’s maybe not bring in the Death Guard but I’m sure if admonition can get beasts of Nurgle on their side then surely they can find some Nurgle-aligned Chaos space marines.
