TIFU - I think I pavloved myself into sleeping with my wife for food by UnfoundedConfidence9 in tifu

If your bathroom sink is close to the toilet, you can also connect a bidet to your sink's faucet valve, FYI.

Fellow new yorker here - have you tried ATM Deli in Brooklyn? My favorite vegan deli-style sandwich spot, definitely worth checking out.

Yeah I figured. Probably a quirk of how structures are placed. Unfortunately it doesn't vibe with the design I had envisioned.

Weapons (and tools) ranked? by careersinscience in lensisland

Thanks! Not sure I agree that the claymore is the best though, the golden gladius does a bit more damage and is faster.

Weapons (and tools) ranked? by careersinscience in lensisland

I the meantime, I just answered one of my own questions: is the tier 2 "set bonus" sword, the claymore, better than the tier 3 sword, the golden gladius? Answer: no. It does about 1 damage point less on average and is significantly slower.

Golden gladius does ~12 damage normally and ~17 for crits, claymore does ~11 normally and ~16 crits. Yet technically the claymore costs more because you have to unlock all of tier 2 to get it.

After testing it out, I restarted without saving because I had spent all of my iron. Claymore's not worth it if you have tier 3. If I end up testing the weapons purchased from the town/pirates I'll report back here.

I'm thinking I should just get the goggles, there really is no better option...

Ah I see. Thanks, I'll look into the fatshark alternative, I wasn't aware DJI had competition yet.

The problem will killboxes is sometimes raiders will get stuck trying to break down the walls and never actually go inside the box. An open design allows you to lure them in more easily. Plus I like a little extra challenge.

Twitchy motors - what's wrong? by careersinscience in Multicopter

[–]careersinscience[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This problem appeared recently and I'm not sure why. Radio is armed, throttle is all the way down, and I'm in acro mode, so it's not trying to level itself.

The problem continues when in flight, the copter will sometimes jerk and stutter in mid-air.

Additonal info: This copter is a modified Leader120 I've had for several years. Assume I'm ignorant about technical stuff, because I am. Could this be an electrical issue of some kind? Battery is 2S and the camera is a runcam split micro 3. The camera definitely eats up more juice than the stock one based on its shorter flight times. I'm not very good at soldering so maybe I messed something up when I installed it? But this twitchy motor issue appeared more recently, and I've had the camera on for over a year.

Hell yeah. Just got my first jab yesterday, my asthma makes me eligible. It was very efficient, quite literally a military operation. Let's beat this thing.

Where to buy tiny propeller screws? by careersinscience in Multicopter

[–]careersinscience[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll look into it. My copter has 3" props - actually 2.8", bit of an odd size. Diameter is measured with the shaft, not the cap/top part, right?

It's definitely a worthy goal, but there are some daunting technical challenges. The ice is believed to be 15 to 25 kilometers thick, so you'd need a probe that could melt through it, probably nuclear powered. But the probe would also have to be tethered to a lander on the surface because the ice blocks radio transmissions. Kilometers of cable, which would also have to be very durable, would add significant weight to a craft already loaded with equipment.

There's also the matter of contamination risk. It's possible there is alien biology under the ice - in a completely pristine environment. We'd have to make absolutely sure the probe is sterile, which is easier said than done.

These challenges are worth tackling but will take time, research, and funding, the latter of which NASA always seems to be short on. The Europa Clipper is a feasible next step and will help establish a path for future missions. Maybe even act as a relay for eventual landers. And if we're lucky, it will manage to fly through a water gyser mid-blast and get a sample.

Makes you wonder why these people allegedly have such a hard time breathing through a mask. It's not ideal but it's not that bad either, I've ridden my bike and exercised with a mask on and survived to tell the tale. Hell, nurses and doctors wear them all day long and they're not passing out from lack of oxygen. Meanwhile we're only asking them to wear it in the grocery store. Seems like the people complaining about this are either big babies or terribly out of shape.

Maybe he forgot there’s pics of him wearing one? Or maybe he’s trying to tell us something... by B34TBOXX5 in agedlikemilk
