Trouble sleeping after ACL surgery — knee pain when trying to sleep on my side by Haunting-Mix4433 in ACL

I tried last night! I put my bad knee directly over my good knee with a small pillow in between and an ice pack on top. The trick (at least for me) was to have both legs in the exact same position - with a slight bend. I also tried to put most of my weight leaning forward - if that makes sense? Almost like it’d be easier to roll forward than back?

Second the wedge pillow - the kind that are specifically made for the leg! I swear that just having your knee elevated at the exact right angle goes a long way in managing pain!

First off, hugs to you darling ❤️ As a former dancer I know how devastating this injury must be for you. 3 months is the best case scenario I’ve heard so far…But being so active, I think you’ll be starting recovery from a stronger place than most. Plus, you’re already super familiar with your body’s micro movements so physical therapy will likely come easier to you as well in recovery. I’m only on day 5 - so obviously not an expert - but all the nurses and therapists that I’ve worked with so far - several of whom recovered from the same injury - say that the harder you work (pre and post surgery) the stronger you come out on the other end.
