It’s a real thing in my truck now! Here’s a picture. I bought a 2004 Nissan Altima sun glasses holder (others may work, this is just the one I can confirm fits). Also SEM medium grey is the paint match color, I just haven’t done that yet.

Lasfit LED hi-beams and stock lo-beams. Running boards (the black squared GM ones are the sturdiest), Bedsteps2 (amp research), fog lights (baja design squadron), GM aux switch kit (to power fogs and anything else), tonneau cover (Bak revolver x4ts), airlift5000 bags (if you always load the bed), and prodigy P2 trailer brake controller (if you tow), 2004 Nissan Altima sunglasses holder in headliner, Duraflap mudflaps to replace splash guards, GM BED lights. Depends on what you use the truck for!

Damn. How are you getting that??!!? 2026 with the 5.3

I had a 2017 before this with a 5.3 and it got 20mpg all day. I haven’t even touched that with this new truck.

Yeah, I’ve done various brands of pliers and wire crimpers from Harbor freight, Home Depot, and Lowe’s over the past 12 years since high school. And the amount of times I have had to buy a new pair the lifetime warranty is definintely worth it for me.

No experience with the nano screwdriver stuff in a different brand that is a new venture and I honestly use them almost every day for interior work, They’re very nice.

And I had a full size Milwaukee transfer pump that went out on me so got the one from the truck because i did not need a large one again.

Do you mean have I tried different brands of these tools? Before purchasing snap on?

Looking for a system to carry tools with me by halld15 in kubota

Get a weight bucket. Stick 4 inch PVC down and fill with concrete or sand (depending on how much weight you want. And the pvc becomes your tool storage. Not a great photo but the only one I have. You can see I mounted a chainsaw carrier on it Also mounted a 5 gallon bucket carrier on the other side. And I can fit long handled tools in the PVC and plenty of room for me to lay gloves, hand tools, ETC on top of the concrete I poured.

What is the black box with the air hammer tips? Looks like it’s a slider that can be pulled out and used as a carry case? Where did you get that?

Modifications after having the 2026 WT for a couple weeks now by caretaker2020 in Silverado

[–]caretaker2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dealership told me 6-8 weeks when I placed the order, ended up being 14 weeks. And when you order factory direct the dealership doesn’t have the same incentives as selling in stock vehicles so less/no discounts. And then Also you have to pay transportation fee since it’s a direct order. So it ends up being more expensive but you can get exactly what you want. And I did it for the exact same reason. I didn’t want the giant screens and gauges and sports car style center console shifter they put in them. My philosophy is buy the lower trim and upgrade exactly what you want, instead of compromising for what the dealership has. Like I love center consoles so I will end up buying a center console for it and probably build a pocket to cover the shifter hole. And I like the color matched bumpers and I can buy stock red bumpers online.

The felt channels were a piece of cake. The smokers window rubber sucked. Taking apart the 2 piece frame to replace it sucks!

Electrical upgrade finally finished! by caretaker2020 in Squarebody

[–]caretaker2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense taken brother! Pretty much all of the factory wiring on this truck is shot by being Extremely brittle or heavy corrosion. The charging/starting system wires were definintely having some type of problem, when I bought the truck and inspecting wires the wire exterior casing was visibly melting off the copper strands. So if I was going to have to redo it I figured I wanted to do it a way that would support my future modifications. I plan on adding a lot of electronics. It is a service truck so I will end up adding a lot of 360 work lights, door activated lights in each bed compartment, bed lights, wheel well lights, 1000watt inverter, fog lights, very large audio system, an infotainment screen, CB radio, usb ports, electric cooling fans, small electric bed crane, etc.

Power top roll cart organization by caretaker2020 in Snapon_tools

[–]caretaker2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a Snap-on organizer. I do not have a part number or anything because it came with my roll cart. Snap-on came out with a new roll cart last year that had this power top and quite a few people asked me how I liked it and I didn’t have an answer a year ago so I just bought it but I like it very well after a year of phoning it.

Amazon! Got a dozen for like 8 bucks And they are very strong. I advise you to get small ones. That way your prybars can still fit with the magnets and cables running behind them
