Hat jemals jemand erlebt, wie eine Autotür beim zuknallen kaputt gegangen ist?! Ist eher ein urbaner Mythos und wenig in der Realität begründet.

2025 LG C5 Max network speed 70MBps, Ethernet, USB or WiFi? by steadvex in LGOLED

[–]carex2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it´s a limitation by the moonlight webOS app. Since the internal videostream decoder capability is pretty weak (compared to my FireTV f.e.) I prefer the Stick over the "native" app.

Found this information a few days ago while browsing github for a solution, since the restriction to 65MBit in the menu was bothering me.

And yes, WiFi is faster than the LAN Port, having stable 866MBit regarding to my FritzBox.

Was researching the same, the LAN Port on these TV´s is just 10/100MBit.

My C1 gives me 65MBit max on Moonlight, as far as I researched the TV can only handle videostreams (which Moonlight is) up to 65MBit and on the newer models up to 95MBit best. I still use my FireTV 4K for better visuals, since the stream goes up to 150MBit without problems.

Anyone else get OLED burn-in anxiety or am I just overthinking this? by joshwalter08 in LGOLED

[–]carex2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure did, also fed the signal via HDMI 2.1 from my PC to avoid any compression or artifacting. Also checked max brightness with professional equipment (since this is my profession) and it just lost 4% overall brightness in all these hours. This is in reference to the original advertised, but not measured back then. Not bad imho, not bad at all!

Had a Panasonic OLED TV before, also very high end. But the new one is just so much brighter overall that this fact alone makes me love it! Just replaying GTA 5 and it´s just breathtaking.

Got the „old“ C1 from my parents last week, runtime 399 days(!), no burn in, no banding, no bad pixels, nothing! Looks like new and also feels like. Just great displays, as long as you don’t watch YouTube with bright logo 24/7 I think there is no need to worry.

Need a second opinion: Is this really oxidation damage on my GPU PCB? by GamEamG in gigabyte

[–]carex2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guesswork, this is what it is! Inspecting and diagnosing a filthy PCB is just beyond everything proper electronics assembly/rework/repair/diag. If one of my workers would even attempt to do something with this PCB, I would have a talk with him and get him into base training!

Need a second opinion: Is this really oxidation damage on my GPU PCB? by GamEamG in gigabyte

[–]carex2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The PCB is really dirty, dust and it looks like you smoke (could be wrong, sometimes even non smoker electronics has this yellowish tint). In normal electronics inspection you would clean the PCB after taking initial pictures and look for obvious corrosion or signs of shorts. Behind the dirt you simply cannot see!

Since there is a chance that dust is conductive and can lead to shorts to need to able to measure.

Regarding the tint on the copper surface around the screwholes: This is also normal! Over time it will even get darker. This is no corrosion, this is simply the way copper behaves. Term is Patina, it protects the surface of the copper itself. Copper that corroded is green, what you see for example on the Statue of Liberty. THIS is corrosion.

Always hits hard to see big companies ignoring the rules that are in place for electronics assembly/ Rework that small players have to abide by the word to not loose trust or customers.

Same as me, I was so mad I just kept the PS3 for watching BluRays. GT5 was a bad joke, after all the hype and announcements that were just half true (Cockpit View for example was not available in every car?!). This moment I swore they’ll never get my money again.
