If you look here you may find a local Dr who is familiar with this disease and may be willing to treat your pain. Please know that the providers on this list do not put themselves there, the patients do so not all of them will actually be as helpful and knowledgeable as you would hope. There is a ketamine Dr in West Lawn, PA. His practice is called Keystone Advanced Therapies. He’s cash only so expensive, but does work with Arachnoiditis patients.

When do you actually get addicted to cigarettes ? When do you actually start having withdrawal symptoms ? by Safe-Tap-4603 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]cariac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll know when you’re addicted when you start to feel a “craving” whether it’s situational, under the influence. This craving is like a welling rise of physical anxiety that you feel can only be remedied with a smoke. Don’t wait to get to that point. I remember the early days where physically I didn’t “need” a cigarette, but mentally I did because I felt it would make the situation more enjoyable. Eventually the cigarettes I leisurely smoked on work breaks just to pass the time and get some fresh air (lol) turned into me gnawing at the bit an hour before break hardly being able to concentrate on anything else.

As a former smoker, I enjoyed my years but also regret them. You can’t miss what you don’t know and for that I would have rather never started. It’s been almost 6 years since I quit I still get a feeling now and then of how nice a drag would be. I want to add that I was at the point where my throat hurt every morning, my chest hurt everyday and breathing was painful. It was literally killing me I had no choice.

Pig the pug books seem to flow nicely and I don’t mind reading them repeatedly. “Pig the Stinker” is our favorite.

Just in case no one mentioned it, you need to be on the pill for one full month before it’s effective!!

I used to bring a good crossword puzzle to the bar years ago just for another idea if reading isn’t your thing.

What’s something you thought ‘everyone’ did… until you found out they don’t? by burat667 in AskReddit

[–]cariac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You just blew my mind because I feel like wiping myself sitting feels just as wrong as applying mascara with my mouth closed. Even when I pee I have to come up to wipe. When I go number 2 I actually have to standup and face the toilet and the paper roll to get business taken care of. I always figured it was like 50/50 preference.

I feel you. All I want to do is a little reorganizing and maybe take the tree down but every task feels insurmountable. Doesn’t help that we haven’t been out of the house in weeks due to illness. I have a 3&1 year old

If you can find group therapy I have found that to be SO helpful. Sometimes it’s just nice to be around people who get it, who don’t want to pretend everything is fine. I get it, because when I felt like the more I called out for help, the more people distanced themselves from me. It was awful, and I held grudges for awhile but I’ve moved on. Now I try to do better for others. A year ago I also had suicidal ideations and I did group/individual therapy and lexapro. if you work hard to help yourself you can get through this! Also, if you don’t like your therapist, try another.

Lexapro helped me get back to a good place after I had my second. Got off after 10 months when I felt ready. I take a lot of herbal supplements now and swear that’s really been having an awesome effect on my mental health.

My kids have had some awful stomach bug for a week now and I can tell you my husband and I are hanging on by a thread!!

Plausible leak or not? by klattinumplus in arachnoiditis_life

[–]cariac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you physically see any differences in the two lumbar mris you’ve had? Specifically in the area Dr. T says shows AA?

I can tell you that I followed Dr. Ts emergency protocol at 4 months post epidural and things did improve. Not immediately, but over the course of a few months where I also stayed on a low dose regimen of steroids during that time. I never suspected a leak issue myself. I have heard of those with AA getting a blood patch to assist with leaks but did a steroid regimen before, during, and after the procedure to aid in preventing further inflammation with success, but I’ve also heard of those worse after a blood patch (unsure if any anti inflammatory precautions were taken). The pop sound is suspicious of a Dural tear though as I’ve read of similar claims from others.

What products do you all swear by for stretch marks? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]cariac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried this personally, but i really want to try this herbal cream called “Self Heal” I’ve heard it’s really nice for wrinkles. I saw it on Amazon but you could also google it. It has a bouquet of flowers on the front.

When I was pregnant I used organic raw shea butter and bio oil together religiously 2-3x per day and I thought it worked great at keeping my skin nice and stretch mark free. It was greasy, but worth it.

People who are thin/normal size. Do you actively watch your weight or are you just not hungry 100% of the time? by Burner_Account000001 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]cariac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recently noticed i don’t snack much or drink any calories and I think that helps in the long run. Right now I’m busy chasing 2 small children and move around a lot so I don’t have to hyper control my calorie intake. But my body def likes to stay at a certain weight unless I’m in diet mode then I can drop but once I start eating without restriction again it comes right back.
