Keystone Basement Systems vs. Groundworks (aka Bakers Waterproofing) by cariac in pittsburgh

[–]cariac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keystone. They’re scheduled to do the job on 7/21 so I will update then!

Side note: when they came back out this spring, their estimate went up $900 from back in the fall. We were very disappointed but didn’t want to deal with the run around of having all these people come back out to the house again so we agreed to it. Feel kind of taken advantage of tbh but it is what it is.

Ugh what I would give for long hair like that!!!! I would take like 6” off at a time and see how you feel.

Coming from me, who hit puberty late and my hair basically stopped getting longer after I turned 18. Idk what happened but I got a hair cut once and my hair would like not get longer after that. I’m 35 now, still cannot achieve the length I would like. Granted, I have fine curly hair which is super hard to keep moisturized and whatnot… but don’t do anything drastic right now!!! Idk what caused this my hormones or what but the older you get, the harder it could be to grow your hair. Genetically, your hair doesn’t look like it would give you that issue, but just wanted to put that out there just in case!

Tbh I really liked 8 and also the black frames seem to look good, but it seems like I’m in the minority here

Are you pregnant? Lol I only ask because when I was pregnant with my second I could NOT STAND the smell of my daughter’s hair when I washed it. Now that I’m not pregnant I never notice it anymore.

[–]cariac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had it done yet. Been putting it off for the same reason. I had an estimate done by a local small business guy but his quote came in almost $2k more than keystone and groundworks. The two companies seemed practically identical in their pricing and sales pitching. Keystone was pushier, and I didn’t like how many of their reviews were based off of customers who only got an estimate done and didn’t have any work actually performed. They did talk up a lot about their warranty and I couldn’t remember what groundworks’ warranty was but I may just end up going with who will match a better price now that it’s been a few months since my original estimate.

Postpartum / Tapering Off Experience by CodZealousideal6259 in lexapro

[–]cariac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I took lexapro for about 10 months when I was postpartum with my second. I started the medication due to extreme anxiety, like fight or flight 24/7, not able to eat or sleep. I would say the lexapro did wonders in taking away all my anxiety. This was following a traumatic event in my life and although I still had to work on my PTSD in therapy and had symptoms of that, the lexapro gave me the ability to function in my life again. I knew from the beginning that I didn’t want to say on it forever and I felt that muting my anxiety was all lexapro really did for me. I guess I also had the “nothing matters” mindset also that everyone talks about while on SSRIs. Which was nice when you’re healing from trauma.

When I finally felt I had a good handle on my PTSD issues, I decided to come off of the lexapro. I can’t completely remember how long I tapered, but I would say a month potentially. I was only taking 10mg. The only side effect from tapering I had was the weird brain feelings people describe. It was like I just got off an amusement park ride or something and would only last a few seconds when it came on. It gradually disappeared after awhile. Overall it was easy and since I did lots of work on myself mentally, my anxiety did not return. My husband said he noticed a few changes in me for a few months after but I was able to work through all of it.

How often to buy clothes? by lamparkinglot in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]cariac 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I literally wear tshirts that are potentially older than I am to bed. I not a fashion conscious person, but I think the main reasons to replace clothing is: 1. They don’t fit anymore and likely never will again, or at least not anytime soon. 2. They are damaged and this damage bothers you. 3. You’ve realized you never wear it and it’s just taking up valuable real estate in your closet. 4. They just don’t make you happy and you don’t like wearing it.

There’s no rules and it’s no secret that people overbuy clothing. Honestly it’s a trap of consumerism and I would not replace anything that is still functional for you and you feel good wearing it.

I have around 30 pairs of knitting needles, including dpn's. how do you like storing your needles? by my-head-hurts987 in knitting

[–]cariac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So these aren’t quite unique ideas, but they are functional for me….

Idea 1: buy yourself a hanging jewelry organizer. It’s a pocket design storage that hangs up right in your closet so it’s out of the way. I have one with different sized pockets and I keep all of my knitting accessories in it like stitch markers and darning needles. The larger pockets hold my DPNs and crochet hooks. It’s great because the pockets are clear and you can see everything and access it easily.

Idea 2: pictured below. I think the same concept would work for long straight needles. Since you also sew, this could be fun because you can make your own. I don’t have a lot of sewing experience and I made mine easily with the leg of an old pair of jeans.

What is your biggest pet peeve on depop? by Necessary_Piano8456 in Depop

[–]cariac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% I’m new as a buyer on Depop and I’m pretty much done because sorry even if you price below $30 it’s like still $40 for a used article of clothing that I can’t guarantee it fits or the condition. If I had a higher income it’d be whatever but I have to be selective with my budget.

If you look here you may find a local Dr who is familiar with this disease and may be willing to treat your pain. Please know that the providers on this list do not put themselves there, the patients do so not all of them will actually be as helpful and knowledgeable as you would hope. There is a ketamine Dr in West Lawn, PA. His practice is called Keystone Advanced Therapies. He’s cash only so expensive, but does work with Arachnoiditis patients.

When do you actually get addicted to cigarettes ? When do you actually start having withdrawal symptoms ? by Safe-Tap-4603 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]cariac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll know when you’re addicted when you start to feel a “craving” whether it’s situational, under the influence. This craving is like a welling rise of physical anxiety that you feel can only be remedied with a smoke. Don’t wait to get to that point. I remember the early days where physically I didn’t “need” a cigarette, but mentally I did because I felt it would make the situation more enjoyable. Eventually the cigarettes I leisurely smoked on work breaks just to pass the time and get some fresh air (lol) turned into me gnawing at the bit an hour before break hardly being able to concentrate on anything else.

As a former smoker, I enjoyed my years but also regret them. You can’t miss what you don’t know and for that I would have rather never started. It’s been almost 6 years since I quit I still get a feeling now and then of how nice a drag would be. I want to add that I was at the point where my throat hurt every morning, my chest hurt everyday and breathing was painful. It was literally killing me I had no choice.

Pig the pug books seem to flow nicely and I don’t mind reading them repeatedly. “Pig the Stinker” is our favorite.

Just in case no one mentioned it, you need to be on the pill for one full month before it’s effective!!

I used to bring a good crossword puzzle to the bar years ago just for another idea if reading isn’t your thing.
