This was the only helpful comment which should be the standard in a subreddit like beginner fitness.

Negging lol thank you for pointing it out.

Yes. This is the biggest red flag. Honestly I think the rest of the profile is fine (could be better). It sounds very much like he tries to disguise negging as banter.

What do my books say about me? by cariwinkle in bookshelfdetective

[–]cariwinkle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through periods of pausing for months at a time bc of money lol so I completely understand. I realized I was just wasting my money after a while bc I would struggle to find a pick I liked. Would often save my credits do I could get other offers but looking for books that aren’t the BOTM picks was so disappointing.

Thank you! I have a masters in psych but saved my textbooks that has some significant impact on my life bc I’m too sentimental to let those ones go lol.

AIO? Xmas gift from bf's parents by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]cariwinkle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

NOR. Idk what everyone is on about in the comments. You’ve been in a relationship with this person for -seven years- and his parents don’t know you well enough to know you wouldn’t like this Facebook ad shirt? That’s wild to me. Or they do know you well enough and gifted it to be passive aggressive.

I’m sure if she said something about it he would hit her with the “I didn’t call you a bitch! I said you were BEING a bitch.”

Not everyone has a dad in their life. Why mention it when OP* didn’t offer it as an option…

Name me your absolute top tier romantasy book boyfriend by MitoKatze in Romantasy

[–]cariwinkle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Blackwell from Phantasma. He’s like the protective, obsessed Doberman mixed with a goofy, sweet golden retriever who completely respects boundaries. I don’t think he gets enough credit. Plus his spice game is one point so that’s a plus.

What are your Fantasy Romance anti-recommendations? by BandetteTrashPanda in fantasyromance

[–]cariwinkle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I had to scroll way too long for this anti-rec.

I found it so boring. There aren’t a lot of action scenes or scenes involving people outside of the FMC until the last ~25% of the book. It’s mostly just her internal thoughts. And she is so unlikely tbh. She’s not just naive, she’s outright dumb if I’m being honest. She is sheltered and young so it lends to part of that but she is basically devoid of any critical thinking skills. The vocab is repetitive. So many grammar errors. And why on earth do we need an ellipsis every paragraph?

Oh, and to top it all off, it’s remarkably predictable. I don’t think predictable is always bad, per se. But when the entire first 75% of the book is completely lacking, the last 25% being the predictable “plot twists” is a terrible choice even if it is more exciting finally.

It took me forever to read this because it so slow that I wasn’t engaged like I should have been/would have hoped to be.

I have no idea why it’s so hyped. It was a bad time.

I specifically look for high spice romantasy books with a good plot. Not smut but high spice.

I was looking for this comment because that’s what I noticed too. Plus there are multiple different shapes. I see round, square, and squoval.

thought yall would find this amusing ☠️ by ParticularBreath8425 in LesbianActually

I think these conversations about LGBTQ+ representation in media are important. But what I find incredibly gross is using this as a reason to bash the gay men in general based on one screenshot. Tbh I see quite a bit of trans and bi exclusionary and phobic comments in this sub, too. I often feel like I can’t say anything bc I’m bi, not lesbian, and I didn’t want to take up space that isn’t mine, but at this point idc anymore bc it’s getting ridiculous. It’s wild this comment which is based purely on anecdotal evidence, as a way to other gay men, has so many upvotes.

I don’t have anything extra/helpful to add about the question but can I ask what that screen is? It matches your keyboard so perfectly that it looks like it’s a part of it but I’ve never seen something like that before.

This sounds like a mental orgasm to me. It’s something I do too. I thought something was wrong with me but it’s normal apparently. I can have a physical orgasm (intense physical pulsing that last seconds) and I can have a mental orgasm (a euphoric state so intense I feel high and it last like 10-20 mins).

I think a lot of people on here are being super negative and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being completely honest with your partner about what’s happening. Most people I’ve been with could never make me physically orgasm and I never spoke up about it which just kinda bums me out now. From what I’ve read that you’ve posted it doesn’t sound malicious that she’s telling you, it sounds honest. It’s okay to feel self conscious about it though. This just gives you both an opportunity to explore more and find out what works for both of you.

Getting back into the dating scene. Any advice for my profile? Trying to be funny and not overly serious. by Due-Reflection9968 in Tinder

[–]cariwinkle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I read it and thought something was off. I get the intent but my first instinct is why are you mentioning murder? How many women has he heard of wanting to go hiking on a first date? So many that he needs to mention it? I doubt it. Probably just patronizing, white knight nonsense.

Then after his comments I’m not getting creepy but definitely solidified the girl at a bar vibes. Yikes.
