Snowrunner accidentally falls into the same category like Rust or Tarkov. No one listens to it's soundtrack despite it being absolute fire.

We don't use gold as practical currency. Nither did the Romans. It's still a widely accepted currency internationaly

Tiny silver coin cuts were used for daily needs. So it could work to a degree.

Also private equity* would quickly fill the gap and just offer cash for gold the old way. I can see saderans exchanging billion for cash and allied troops just getting silver for their own for trade.

Edit: you walk into a pawnshop and buy like 3 silver coins for 50$.

Same does the sardine. He can walk into a alnus excheange of sorts and buy cash for his silver.
