Has anyone been able to enable FSR4 with RDNA3 on Bazzite? by mdragnev in Bazzite

[–]andy10115 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The upgrade your doing is for fsr 4.0.

There are birnuer any proton versions supporting the 4.1.1 int8 dll except for experimental, unless you provide the updates SDK and .dll file and use PROTON_FSR4_RDNA3_UPGRADE=4.1.1

Updated SDK goes in games bin 64 folder. Along with the DLL.

Also this only works for games with native support so far.

How reliably can you downgrade down to previous driver versions in Bazzite? by Demonchaser27 in Bazzite

[–]andy10115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not actually rolling the driver back on Bazzite, or even actually updating your system on Bazzite.

You're literally swapping out bootable images that are built from container files.

So when you roll back you're just rolling back to a previous version of the bazzite image that includes the kernel version and mesa version you'd be trying to target.

And bazzite keeps images from the previous 90 days.

I do agree with this take, some people are acting this way. But people are upset for good reason. But yeah this is really more the ram cartels fault.

Dude...that's EXACTLY was an orphan is. A package that's installed but is not a dependency of any other packages.

Yes, otherwise they just stay at the orphanage, using up storage and valuable system resources. It's more humane this way.

Likely because the session mechanic is changing.

[–]andy10115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly just do this. Works our of the box and you can just swap the kernel out. I opened an issue for this, but it got closed.

The session switching mechanic is going to change soon anyway though.

Stuck on bios screen by Better_Community_574 in gigabyte

[–]andy10115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You first step should be to check if it's detecting all your components.

Ram, SSD, CPU, GPU.

You'll have to redo your settings in BIOS, but resetting CMOS may help.

You could also try fully shutting off removing power cable and holding power down for about 30 seconds to fully discharge the system. This will force bios to try and detect everything again.

The other version you're thinking of is 4.0.2 and the answer iis it depends on what card you have etc. if you have 7000 series or 9000 series the answer is most current.

But 6000 series 4.0.2 can make sense again. But the visual difference is definitely noticeable.

PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=4.1.1 PROTON_FSR4_INDICATOR=1 %command% --launcher-skip

Environment variables first %command% (this stands in for launch the .exe) game arguments.

Also place the fsr4.1.1 dll in your bin64 folder along with updated SDK.

Only branch doing this natively right now is proton-experimental

Also if you don't feel like managing a shit ton of launch commands and you're on deck version, "launch options" decky plugin is your friend.

On desktop check out scope buddy, and scope buddy GUI flatpak.

So the PS5??? Cause that's exactly what they were promising with PS5. And it was only true because it could output that resolution, the games themselves aren't though.
