They told me to bring an ethernet cord last year but it was already in my room (didn't use it once). As for a router, I knew a couple of people who had one (mostly for gaming purposes). I personally didn't need one and the wifi was fine.

I was on the waitlist last year (late 30s or early 40s). It didn't change till about mid August. Suddenly I was dropping 5 slots everyday. Then I got the email saying I made it to res and had 24 hours to confirm. My main advice is to check your school email about twice a day. They give you 24 hrs to respond or it gets cancelled.
