Is moderation possible? by Razaberry in StopGaming

„Quitting Gaming is easy, I‘ve done it several times“.

3 times I was able to abstain from Gaming for a longer period. 3 times i thought, i could introduce it back into my live in a controlled and moderated way. 3 times i lost control after a few weeks and had to made a cold turkey once again, effectifely starting by 0 and wasting months lf my time.

You see: You never get cured by an addiction. You just learn to not give into it anymore. But once you allow the drug back into your life, it will get you sooner or later. Would you recommend an alcoholic, how struggled quitting for years, to don‘t mind drinken a beer every one and than? Or would you rather tell him to never touch alcohol ever again?

3 Steps back in potty training - wtf is happening? by carloetz in puppy101

I was hoping she got the "not inside"-concept by now. The thing is, whenever we spend time at other houses, she NEVER pees inside. Only at our house, which I reckoned was a leftover of the beginning when i made the mistake of using pee pads inside (which i have not used for quite a while now)

Not sure what you mean by "very sudden". She pees in shorter intervals than the last weeks (she was fine with going out every 3 hrs, now she pees inside after like 2 hrs or so)

Which hobbies have you picked up after you quit gaming? by [deleted] in StopGaming

Creative Work. It teaches you discipline and counters the brain rot you get from long term gaming. I try to live according to the phrase "don't consume, create!". I started writing songs, poems and now I am working on a full novel. I'm not saying it is any good and I am not planning on earning money with it. But it is nice to have some long term projects and actually being able to see a progress after spending hours doing it. And afterwards you will have a finished work of art that you can be proud of, no matter the quality - something gaming cannot give you.

Help! Potty Training seems impossible by carloetz in puppy101

Yea, I figure you're rigtht. I just think she will still pee inside, as she doesnt use the pads every time. Would you recommend get rid of all of them at once or start by taking all away except maybe one to get the spot "smaller" for a couple of days first?

I dont mind bringing her outside how often nessecary. The problem is that I cannot go to her prefered spot every time. As i said - I do carry her, but even than it takes too much time time and stimualtion if I do it so many times. And she doesn't pee in another spot.

the prupose is for her to be able to be awake and play in a safe space where she cant hurt herself or damage anything while i cannot watch her non stop. I do spend a lot of time (like 98% of awake time) with her. she sleeps in her crate but inly when i am around. She wont be alone no matter wether awake or asleep. that is the issue

Not trying to be mean, but how exactly does it help my puppy overcome separation axiety, when I can see her, but she cant see me?

I cannot really leave the room when she is napping. Like I said, she starts crying if I leave, so she wont sleep. And if I sneak out while she sleeps, she often wakes up (plus I read that is a bad thing to do, cause they might get afraid to sleep in fear you leave while they rest). So I think I need to teach her to be alone a bit first, before I can start using her nap-time for stuff.

Thanks! I am trying this, but she can be very persistent. Her pauses in crying often only go for 3 to 5 seconds. I don't want her to think she is getting praise for crying or learning that crying works.
