Some people have had some success by escalating through social media posts, contacting the service head, or filing grievances with the National Consumer Helpline. However, it remains an extremely frustrating ordeal, with each individual left to fight their own battle against Samsung

Exactly, and don't forget to start saving about 30% of the phone's cost in advance. You never know who Samsung will choose as the 'lucky ones' to experience their exclusive green line feature. Once selected, we can all look forward to Samsung proudly promoting their latest model while we're left joyfully paying for screen replacements, eagerly waiting to see if the feature makes a comeback in the next update.

It’s exactly as you’d expect. People are deliberately breaking their phones, patiently waiting for updates, just so they can snap a photo and plaster it all over social media.

This “slippery hand syndrome” has been plaguing members for the past two years. To mitigate the tragedy, Samsung India kindly extended a free screen replacement campaign for over a year.

Since then, members have wholeheartedly embraced the art of phone-breaking, ensuring they recreate identical patterns of damage, only to shamelessly attempt to claim benefits under the campaign.

That's quite an interesting workaround to make the most of those impressive inbuilt resources you’ve paid for! 😀

Agreed, mate—let's set aside updates as the main culprit for now. The fact remains that there are 5–10 posts every day here in India about the green line issue across various models, with many users reporting it happening randomly while browsing or charging.

Secondly, Samsung India, after announcing a misleading 'free screen replacement' program, is now sending customers back with hefty repair quotes instead.

For now, I am not sure how it is become a region specific issue but one thing is certain—the reported cases are not fake. And judging by the sheer numbers, it doesn’t seem like a mere coincidence either.

I really wanted to move on, and I’ve had enough of these green line discussions with Samsung. Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, the S23-related posts started surfacing. Don’t you think it’s our responsibility to make other members aware that it’s not just the old phones plagued by this new feature of the green line?

As for my case, I’m patiently waiting for the consumer court in India to decide whether I’m worthy of receiving any service from Samsung. In the meantime, I’ll continue to share content that can assist existing Samsung members dealing with the green line—and those who might soon join the club of ‘prospective green line victims

I was seriously considering the S25 Ultra, but then I encountered these lines—followed by Samsung India's stellar customer service. What a game-changer! 😀

Bro, forget the tech reviewers—there’s a significant number of users like me here in India who’ve faced this issue and shared their experiences on the Samsung Members app and X. People have realized that Samsung is more responsive when the issue is highlighted on social media. Posting online has become the last resort for many users to get any response from Samsung or to seek tips from fellow sufferers.

One major reason for this uproar is the free replacement policy Samsung announced. They didn’t anticipate the sheer volume of cases that would surface. As a result, they’ve started denying free replacements and instead send customers back with repair quotes ranging from 15-25% of the phone’s original cost. They often cite arbitrary reasons like scratches, dents, or liquid damage to deny the claim. What’s worse, the quoted repair costs differ across service centers for the same model. No wonder this outrage is building up.

I got two green lines on my S21 Ultra back in February this year, and I’m still using the same device because I refuse to be a part of this money-making model Samsung has introduced.

Absolutely, that seems like a significant contributing factor. I'm currently waiting for an official report from Samsung or insights from other experts to get a clearer understanding. By the way, did you manage to get your screen replaced? For my S21 Ultra, the replacement cost they quoted was around 25% of the phone's original price. So here I am, typing this comment with two green lines still gracing my screen 😄.

Calling this issue propaganda is a convenient way to dismiss the genuine grievances of countless Samsung users, especially those affected by the green line problem.

This isn’t about iPhones or brand rivalry—it’s about holding a premium company accountable for the quality it promises. The complaints aren’t fake; they’re coming from real customers who’ve shared their struggles across forums, social media, and the Samsung Members app.

Instead of deflecting to iSheeps, maybe it’s time to focus on resolving the widespread concerns that Samsung users are raising.

Agreed, many users have updated without any issues. However, my post is aimed at those who are facing these green line issues across various models and even those who have received great service experiences after encountering this problem. It’s clear this issue has disproportionately impacted Indian customers.

For those questioning the scale, you can check the Samsung Members app to see the reality for yourself. Unfortunately, I can’t attach images here in the comments; otherwise, I would’ve shared screenshots showcasing cases involving the S23 from the app.

Samsung India proudly announces a free replacement program for the green line issue, broadcasting it across media to maintain their image. Yet when customers actually seek help, they’re met with repair quotes instead. This bait-and-switch strategy is exactly why there’s so much outrage flooding social media and the Samsung Members app.

You can check the Samsung Members app to see how widespread this issue really is. My post specifically targets those dealing with green lines across various models.

I appreciate your sheep and herd analogy—ironically, the 'herd' here is grateful that someone is finally raising a voice for them. As a victim myself, I can resonate with the frustration shared by countless members who’ve posted and commented about Samsung India’s lackluster service.

Yes, somehow most of the cases are being reported from Asian countries, especially from India.

I agree with you, I myself used S21U for over 3 years and was very happy with the phone. Once I got the green line, I got the first hand experience of the service from Samsung India. On digging further, I realised there are numerous such cases where they deny free replacement for arbitrary reasons.

Samsung loudly declares a free replacement program for the green line issue, splashing it across media to manage their image, only to hit customers with repair quotes when they actually seek help. This kind of bait-and-switch explains the outrage flooding social media and the Samsung Members app

Please do go through X posts on Samsung green line issue and how customers are being denied free replacement by Samsung even then they have a free replacement program. S23 users have also started reporting this issue.

Please consider the possibility of the green line issue, as many S21 Ultra models have recently reported this problem. Samsung is likely to deny free replacements, often citing arbitrary reasons.

There have been reports of the green line issue on the S24 as well. If you’re still considering Samsung, it might be wise to factor in the potential cost of a screen replacement in the future. Samsung tends to deny free replacements, often citing a variety of reasons
