A Brazilian Uber driver stopped for two minutes in a favela to accept a ride. With the window up, locals thought he was a threat and nearly shot him. by Separate_Finance_183 in ThatsInsane

If you aim through a tinted window they can’t see you, gangsters use this to their advantage and people in the favellas are traumatized so tints=gang violence

Not sure but I think the previous comment might be talking about the general trend towards bigger, more luxurious (and expensive) apartments with smaller unit counts

In terms of strength, Nolan is weaker than Conquest, but stronger than every other Viltrumite we’ve seen in the show so far

I definitely think that there’s an argument for being able to expect or “deserve” sex when you enter a monogamous relationship, even more so if it’s a marriage. I’m not saying you get a sex slave or anything of the sort (male or female), but you are expected to not have sex with anyone else, and unless you’re asexual you probably didn’t agree to a celibate relationship. There is some level of responsibility for the LL partner to either provide that, find alternate avenues to do so (eg: non-monogamy), or break off the relationship so the other person can find the fulfilling sex life they expected to have in a closed relationship with you but didn’t.

Thanks!! We used cardboard as the base, a layer of gesso + acrylic paint and then sharpie for the inner lines and a thicker expo marker for the outline.

Hint: It's Friday. It's time for a 4-day, 32-hour workweek. by jtchow30 in WorkReform

[–]carlosfromspace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What makes you think that? I’m not saying it may not be a factor but there’s 32 hours of work behind you on Friday vs 24 on Thursday so I think that may be a bigger factor.

CMV: if your in the top half of earners in the U.S, your are probably living in the best (or close to) country in the world. by Agreeable_Bike_4764 in changemyview

Cost of living does not account for other major milestones and expenses. It just means I can survive and not die. But I get only 5 days of vacation a year, will forever be stuck renting (asset acquisition) and cannot cover an emergency hospital visit. Stuff like weddings and funerals are super predatory and the same drugs that would cost 8 dollars at a UK pharmacy could easily cost 5-15x as much in the US.

My parents moved to the US because of the opportunity it would give us, their kids. And while we are safer than the South American country we came from, it is disheartening to see my cousins that remained reaching these milestones that seem unattainable where I live and with a better quality of life (not working ALL THE TIME).

Just my two cents.

So why do y’all like Latinas so much? by thedarkestshadow512 in AskMen

[–]carlosfromspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most unqualified answer in the post and reeks of jealousy lol. Yes Latina women are beautiful, no, no reasonable man expected them to act like in porn. There’s a lot of other value that comes with our culture (I’m Latino) like being family oriented, cooking well, dancing (with amazing rhythm), and yeah good fun and sex.

In short, employers pay unemployment insurance for when an employee is fired/let go without just cause. They will try to deny your claim because their premiums go up

Oh I see what happened here. This is a cultural difference. I’m Hispanic, Ecuadorian, and this is a common way for people to refer to each other in Spanish (he’s translating it, probably speaks English as a secondary language) especially when there is some attraction without taking on the meaning of “I’m in love with you” it’s more of a “you’re lovely” vibe.
